Best tip for diamond bar boxes

Diamond bar boxes, especially, are pin ball machines. There is nothing you can do with the tip to fix it. Maybe change your playing style, like going an extra rail for position, etc.

I try, and I can't emphasize that word enough, to hit firmer with focus on center ball on iffy/springy/humid, etc tables. Sometimes successfully, other times not.

Try moving your grip hand forward, then forward some more. Chances are you are using too much stroke. Very hard to slow the long stroke when playing on glass fast tables.

Chances are that a shorter bridge will help you too.

Shortening up is the best way I have found to deal with a super fast table.

Tips play more differently than tables do.
I hit soft shots on the big tables too.
I hit stroke shots in the little tables now and then as well.
Best learn to adjust your pace.
I hate using low english with an unfamiliar tip. I cannot gauge the speed and therefore shape.

A lot of players look for “crutches”, the magic pill to get them to the next level. When they play poorly they then have something to blame also. Throw away the crutches and put in the work!
The thing is I play well enough to win tournaments on the 3030 diamond bar boxes. Its just that I'm constantly out of line and making (recovery) shots vs 860 diamond bb where I can stay in line. If I dont switch shafts (tips) though there is no hope I overhit them so bad no recovery is possible and I lose.

This is the biggest problem I have with switching the tips. The switch really helps my finesse on roll and stun shots but my draw speed is much worse.

Going an extra rail on these tables is suicide (unless it happens naturally). If you get too much angle the cueball is lost 100% for sure nothing you can do. You want to go one rail every chance you get.

In my opinion- controlled stroke acceleration is the key to managing the cue ball on super fast tables of any size. Even out the acceleration of the cue so that is becomes a more constant speed forward motion - sort of like when a baseball pitcher throws a great change- up - The cue tip gets to and through the cue ball at a very even pace throughout the stroke.

I'll try this. Thanks

Get yourself a bigger case and switch out shafts like golfers switch out clubs. Also get a caddie to help you with distance and shaft selection. Oh yeah one more thing get a stimpometer to measure exactly how fast those tables are rolling and switch out accordingly.

Wonder if Earl has tried a stimpometer!?
Lol

An extra rail kills speed, it doesn't increase it.

Using rails to control speed/shape is critical to better play...

When playing on some diamond bar boxes I have speed control issues but others I do not. The ones with the 860 I am fine. The ones with the 3030 I constantly overrun positions.
Only play on the tables you are overrunning position for 1 month. This will increase the delicacy in your stroke delivery.

It is easier to add power than delicacy--concentrate on delicacy until you master it.

When you purposely start setting up to go an extra rail on these tables you are playing with fire. Obviously an extra rail kills the ball.... the thing is I'm playing 8-ball and going an extra rail all the time isnt a good option. Do you think I really am so dumb I dont know what an extra rail does?

People are different I guess I get to places early enough and after a few racks of practice the speed is no longer a problem

Really sounds like you dont know how to play the game.
