Best way to rack your own nine ball?

It's obvious that not one of you so far have Joe Tucker's Racking Secrets I and II.

By the way, you change the order of the balls depending on which side you are breaking from. Not one of you even mentioned this, so we can safely assume you're just making things up.

We are talking Magic Rack here. I have his CD on breaking. It is mostly about where and how to hit the cue ball depending upon where the spaces are between the balls. With the Magic Rack this is a complete waste of time.

Actually I did, and I've watched Joe Tucker's videos. It's obvious you have a social disorder.

not a problem

When gambling playing the ghost, some will agree to let you pattern rack.

Hey, whatever rules/conditions are agreed upon is fine. I just don't like dealing with those guys that give you the "who shot Johnny" look if you question them when you catch them doing something shady to try to get an edge.

In alot of rack your own events they require the 2 be racked in the spot directly below the 9 so it ends up alot up table. I know the Poisoncue tour event is like that.

Alternate breaks and rack your own with the magic rack and make every rack in the event have the exact same pattern, whatever you decide on. Make a mark on the cloth centered at the foot that the end of the rack must line up with to prevent cocked racks. Then let the opponent have a quick look if they so desire. That should equalize it all and end the complaining without wasting much time.

This works better: http://laser-rack.com/_/Page_1.html Only $130.

I haven't tried it yet, but I am tempted. You would have to have enough of the reflecting stickon gizmos to put on the rails though.

It is beyond me why the US Open, or any other tournaments, don't use this. It would prevent arguments and speed up play.

Looks nice but its set up for alignment perfection as opposed to tightness.
Finally tried out the slug doctor, works very well.

The laser lights don't turn on until the balls are tight, according to the site - whatever that means. We need somebody's input here. On tables with old cloth I cannot imagine that this would work very well because the balls would most likely stay in place after you remove the rack, unless you do a lot of tapping.

I love the slug doctor too, but you can't carry it to pool halls and infringe upon the pool table too with clear reinforcements. And on top of that, balls moving around the table during play often get stuck in one of the reinforcements - unacceptable for the US Open for example. We already know the Magic Rack sucks - so this seems to be the best alternative.

I dont know if I used it right, but mine came as one big sticker. True the balls can fall in the spaces, so I agree its not perfect. Room owners should love it because it protects the cloth, but it does look kinda weird. Not sure if casual players would appreciate it.
