I, myself have not been fortunate enough to see some great matches LIVE.The only pro matches I have been able to see LIVE were the b.c.a. matches in vegas.
My favorite matches I have seen live were the Hohmann-Archer final and the Fisher-Corr final,both the same year.I kinda felt bad for Johnny,losing 7-0,but what a display of pool Thorsten showed.On the ladies side,two of my favorite woman going head to head,great match with Allison taking that one.
What is your favorite match-up or tourny you have ever seen LIVE?
 
The best example of 9B I ever saw was Jon Kucharo practicing with a local on a 9' table.

Jon was putting 4-6 packs together one after another and the only thing that stopped him was an occasional slug rack. He literally did not miss a single shot once he gained control of the table. This went on for roughly 2 hours.

Some on here may remember the racker, his name was Chris Aiardo...Chris Cass (sp?) to some.
 
The 6 pack Michael Coltrain ran on Samuel Clemann (Top player from Switzerland) at the Mark Betor Classic at the Crystal Park Casino in 1999. That boy was in the zone for sure during that package!

Effren's routing of Alex Pagulayan and Jason Miller at the 2006 Derby City Classic one-pocket.

Also Toby Flaherty vs. Jack Cooney for 50k in Vegas. I only got to watch for 3 or 4 days (8 hours a day). Fantastic match to say the least.
 
I think the most dominating pool match I ever witnessed was when Efren beat Miller in the finals of the DCC one pocket. Ouch...

The most interesting match I ever saw was when Grady played Johnny Archer some straight pool in my hometown of Paducah, KY several years ago when the Superman Classic was being held in Metropolis, Ill. Johnny was spotting Grady and Johnny beat him...grady ended buying out...I cant remember the score.
 
The best match I ever saw was when Bruce Berrong had Johnny Archer 12-5 in a race to 13 in the finals of a big tournament in Athens a few years back. Niether player had missed a ball. Bruce broke and made a ball but didn't have a shot on the one. He played safe and left Johnny a hard kick. Long story short, Johnny kicks the ball in and then wins the next 8 games never leaving Bruce a shot to win the tournament.
Probably the best offensive display of shooting I ever witnessed was in the finals of a Viking Tour event at Gametime in Greenville between Shannon Daulton and Stevie Moore. It was a race to 9 and Shannon was up 2-1 when he missed a shot. He never got back to the table as Stevie ran the set out to win the tourney 9-2.
 
Efren Reyes VS Jimmy Wetch at the Commerce Casino - Reyes was down 5-1 to Wetch and came back to win 11-1 - I think that after Efren got control of the table, Jimmy got one shot and it was a multi-rail kick that gave Efren ball in hand. After watching that match, Efren Reyes became the greatest player in the world - in my eyes.

I believe that this is the same tournament where Efren beat Jimmy Rempe in the semi finals (a real hill-hill nailbiter).

Damn, he must have been playing good to not only come back and win, but reduce Jimmy's wins by 4! :D

lol... that's what I get for posting and yakking on the phone...lol..

it should read that from that point on he beat Jimmy 10-0 - I believe the final score was 11-5...

The best pool I've seen live would be Wu at the World Pool Masters 2006.
The two matches I saw him play he was unstoppable, 2-3 balls on the break and 1 miss in two matches. It was a shame it was alternating break, otherwise he might have run one of the sets.
How Souquet beat him 8-4 in the finals I'll never know.

The display that sticks in my mind the most is a display of snooker by the top player in my area, Jesse Thehu. He slammed in a 78 with 4 colors left on the table when he was finished and followed it up by an 82 break.
He didn't make it look easy, he made it look like a joke.

Shane van boening play liljohn 10 ahead on a diamond triple shim table at the viking nationals.Shane gave him the 8 and the last 3 and killed him.Later on tony watson stepped up and put up a fight,but shane ran him over at 200 a game of ten ball.Shane ran the backers out of the room.Many people were there and can attest to this.Shane played the triple shim like the table had 6 in pockets,amazing.Ask cliff joyner who was sitting next to me.

Yeah, but you forgot to add the part about how Corey GAVE him the 8 the next night on the same table and won.

Yeah I was going to ask if that was the same table. I think SVB beat up on Troy Frank on that table too.

As for me it was when Tony Elin was hot at one of the Akron tournaments in the mid 80s. He was breaking and running sets on every one. He would be done with a set & the table next to him wouldn't have played 5 games total yet.

Hands down the best offensive match I ever saw was several years ago at DCC. Eric Durbin vs. Nick Varner. Eric ran 6 or 7 racks and that's not the best part. He came with shot after shot including a jump shot over the seven drawing the cb 3 rails for perfect position on the 2 to run out. He did this with his full length playing cue. Nick, as were the other railbirds, just sit there in disbelief. Nick did win one game coming with a multi-rail kickshot to run out the rest of the rack. Nick broke nothing down and Durbin ran out the remainder of the match. It was the greatest display of pocketing skills I have ever witnessed. Incidentally it was the same year most folks had dubbed it the "Durbin City Classic".

Efren playing Yang at the Queens tournament (i forget the name of the tournament-cw won it) Yang opens with a six pack, Efren hits back with a five pack and ends up winning the match 11-10. I could do that!!!!
