Beware of Jeff Forney from various addresses in upstate NY. He sometimes uses the alias J Holmes. He is a long time rip-off artist here, and has likely 20 or better accounts here. Below are some of those names:

Again...it is likely he will add yet another account. Protect yourself and simply avoid the name Jeff Forney or J Holmes. From my research, it would appear he has had or has multiple addresses in upstate NY and allegedly owns Munro Muffler and Brake in Bath, NY.

If you know of other account names not listed above, please feel free to add them here...as well as any other info you may have.

Mr Wilson or Mike please make this a permanent sticky at the top of this section and the Cue Machinery section as well, as he has been doing a bit of advertising there as well.

No problem...the guy needs to be stopped, but since that is difficult with the highly schizo Forney, warning people as to his name and location is the next best thing.

I would highly suggest that before anyone enters into a deal with any individual, that a simple Forums search be done, just to see if there are any issues with any individual in the past. Searches should be done for both monikers and real names. Jeff Forney is as insidious as Black Mold.

"jcueman" had a really nice wrapless TS cue for sale a couple of weeks ago...and I decided to dig around on AZB to see what I could find out...and I found a post that showed that he was the jforney guy.

I didn't put in any bids.

Guaranteed, he'll use another moniker very shortly, if not already. Best thing to do is to just start bombing this guy's ads...warn the world. If we make it too much of a hassle for him to post up his dirty deals, then perhaps he'll go away.
 
Kudos for keeping folks abreast of his bad action, Lisa.
I always have to count how lucky I was that the very first deal I ever made on AZ was with JForney - a cue trade w/ money my direction. Went perfectly, but still I was lucky.
That brought me my 1st Jeff Olney cue... I was really lucky!

Yeah...you were one of the lucky ones! But that is his pattern...do some good deals, and then rip someone off with some sort of bogus USPS snafu. Notice how it's never with FedEx or UPS? I think he does the good deals in hopes that those will come to defend him when he does the rip-off.

No problem Tommie. The main thing to look for is the mailing address info and name...which I am sure he'll change. If there were just MO's involved then I think this guy would be cooked, because he couldn't produce an ID other than his to cash a MO...but with PayPal, he can pretend to be whomever he wants...and getting your money back is a joke with them.

I no longer use PayPal....it's a USPS Postal MO for me, which I take to the USPS for verification as to it's authenticity. It's a shame it's come to this, but not too many are gonna look out for us, so we have to look out for ourselves.
 
Ive been a member here for a few years, how exactly do you red rep someone. I just looked at my rep and I have one red flag about a mistake I made for trying to sell something non-pool related.
Dont really know why someone would red flag me but it happened.

When you click on the blue 'Rep' button, there is an option to leave a good rep or a bad rep (Approve/Disapprove). It's automatically checked for leaving good rep, just make it to leave bad rep.

As a side note.....he was red repped all the way yesterday...but he has so many multiple accounts, that he just green reps himself back, so no one is the wiser, and he can keep on ripping people off.

Thank you for posting this info about the crap turd (J Forney).
I was thinking, is there a way that the moderators can do some sort of a check with new azers signing onto this forum. Like before becoming a member the would be canidate must supply the moderators with a actual home address(where they live at) I know people have PO boxes such as myself, but I also have a physical home address where I reside at. And if an az member moves from there residence, they can always shoot the moderators a new address through a PM. I don`t know if this is possible or not but I thought maybe it could be somewhere to start at. This way the moderators would have a full name and address of the azer on record if they ever needed it. Like I said it was just a thought to keep these low lifes from re-entring the az community.

I have also posted this in the Cue Machinery and Supplies section of AZB since he has been running ads there as well.

One must be diligent when dealing with sellers here on AZB...he will create yet another new account and moniker again...likely already has. He is as dishonest as they come....just be on the alert for any sellers in upstate NY...he changes mailing addresses often, and has used alias...J Holmes being one.

I would suggest not doing any Paypal transactions with anyone from upstate NY and only deal with USPS MO or personal checks if you are the buyer. He will have to provide his true ID for those. Personally, I would avoid Paypal altogether simply because their protection is almost non-existent.

I apologize to anyone on AZ who is from upstate NY, but y'all can thank Jeff Forney for all that may follow.

A member here purchased the Limited Edition Tiger butt he had for sale. He sent out an empty tube with likely the lid barely a-fixed, knowing it would never make the trip. Then try and pass off the theft on the USPS. He also did not insure the package. The mailing label gave him away. $1.70 for shipping.
