Beware of Dealing with Member calibration aka Cal Smith

Guys, this has gone on way to far and its pissing me off. I made a sincere statement earlier in this thread of an apology. But still the crap keeps going and going.... So to show this community of my fellow billiards friends that I am a stand up guy I'll offer this. Fast lenny if you still have the cue i'll take it, heck I'll even give you $25 dollars more than we initially agreed on to aid you in the tremendous suffering and pain that I have caused you. So, balls in your court... Put up or shut up......

I'm pissed....

Cal
It has been over 2 weeks and still no payment once again, you said balls in your court and to put up or shut up and I did. I replied to you here and sent you a PM, what gives?

Er.....I could be wrong, but...........I don't think he wants the cue.

I guess that is the case but once again he said he would send payment for it if you read the thread and then has not sent it. It is funny how some can think I am wrong about the situation but if I tell you I will take it and send payment then something serious would have to happen for me not to follow through on it. Cal has shown his word is worthless, not sending payment the first time and then coming in here beating his chest saying he is a stand up guy and will take it if I still have it and the ball is in my court, put up or shut up, well I did and what did he do but the same thing as before.

Cal handled this situation 100% wrong in every way, not myself, his lack of payment and communication is what pissed me off. My other cues sold, this is the last one I have for sale and I lost buyers because of it. I will put it back on the market now. Thanks Cal for being a stand up guy and wasting my damn time. I am done with this now, being a nice guy it seems on here and being patient does not seem to work and you get strung along.

How about the dreaded Chargeback? There's where you really feel pain. No merchandise and no money! And Paypal leaves your ass swinging in the breeze.

Yeah it could always be worse, was fun to call his bluff though.

I stopped the deal on this cue not because of the actual cue nor the seller. Simple fact was I dont want it, this deal has gone way to nasty and I am better to just step away from it. Best of luck to Fast Lenny

Ho

Yeah I feel that way when it happens to me, and it happens to me lots. I sell for a living. I've just found its better (for me)to let it roll off my back rather than having it affect my attitude and makes it far easier (again for me) to maintain a happy attitude as a sales guy. To each his own. Sorry if it seemed like I was telling anyone that I knew the only way to think about these types of situations. I was trying (perhaps poorly) to illuminate an alternative way of thinking, and one that works for me.

In my experience, we never alter the way people think. Messing with a non-paying "buyer" just puts one in a negative place and really rarely makes them pay, and when they do, quite often as a seller I end up regretting doing business with them at all. Its the buyers that do buy that I'm far more interested in expending my time and energy on.

But again, that's just what works for me. Plus there's always the possibility that if I'm haranguing some guy for not paying me for some transitory item, he's going to tell me some tragic life story and make me feel like a boob, so, me? I move on to the next. Myself, I sell name-brand stuff, and nothing is so rare that there's not another interested party right around the corner.

Thanks

Kevin

Sounds pretty self-centered to me! Rather than warn the community of a deadbeat you simply go on to the next sale. Why am I not surprised? It takes a big man to think of no one but himself...or does it?
