There is nothing special about the original Sledgehammer shaft. Anyone can put a phenolic tip on a shaft with a matching black collar. As long as the collars match up, no one will know the difference.

I've had dealings with him also that we're flawless, that's why I'm willing to GIVE him $125,assuming this is a misunderstanding, if that's the only way it gets rectified.....people lose jobs and get debt and it makes good people bad, quickly.......
Oh well, the OP has a couple offers for free shafts so I'm sure it will be fine...

All of our business was done via text. I didn't expect any problems. I certainly didn't expect his reaction when there was a problem with the deal. I just did a search and found a post where he was trying to this item as a butt only. It does seem that there was some miscommunication. I believe that I was partially at fault for not doing the search before buying.
At this point I have decided to let the matter go. To the guys that have tried to help me with the matter - thank you very much. I really appreciate it. If the members that offered to try and find me a shaft can come up with something to fit that 3/8/10 joint, I would be grateful. I can pay you something for it - and if you don't want to accept any money - please allow me to at least pay the shipping.

I can let you know that for the Sledgehammer - for lack of a better description - the shaft Mike used was thicker. I know this cause when the BCAPL outlawed phenolic tips, I put another Gulyassey shaft from my playing cue on my Sledgehammer -- it worked find but there was a definite, noticeable difference in the width of the shaft as it did not line up correctly.

I'm guessing that you mean the joint diameter was probably around .870 instead of .840?

Yes - the reason that I tried to become cordial and let things go is because I found that post. The interesting thing about that post is the part that says that there are a couple of dents in the butt and that you would have to look for them. It looks ok from about 15 feet away. My buddy came up to me when I was measuring the joint for a shaft and asked me "Where did you get that piece of S__==T??? It looks like it's been dragged behind a truck" There are multiple holes through the finish to bare wood and there is not a 5 or 6 inch span of finish without a dent. That is half of the reason I was so hot when I pulled this thing out of the box. The initial shock was having no shaft when you expected one. Let me tell you - that will grab your attention.
Incidentally - I went through all the texts we exchanged last night. There are several that state - I am going to send your CUE. At this point I have a member that is trying to work with me to find a shaft, so I am just going to get a shaft and use it. Another member pointed out a shaft on ebay that might work. Jay may be looking for one too.
