They include ranking events for selection and seeding for some of their events. And, a new event European Open(besides the UK Open).
Here are the ranking events for this year.

Interesting that international open is not a ranking event. I like that they are partnering with existing promoters though. You can’t ignore the history and prestige of other tournaments.
DCC is, international is not, on the list I just read. Maybe a mistake? Doesn’t make sense. It and Derby City are listed as ranking events.
Yes, this is the list I based my comment on.DCC is, international is not, on the list I just read. Maybe a mistake? Doesn’t make sense.
The Slovenia and Treviso Open's are a ranking event but not the Int'l. Whatever.DCC is, international is not, on the list I just read. Maybe a mistake? Doesn’t make sense.

Matchroom mention Pat Fleming multiple times in the descriptions. World #1 Ouchan is mentioned as the International Open champion. I think the IntOpen has to be on the ranking points list. I think the listing is not clear. What would make it clearer is a list of events with ranking points up for grabs.DCC is, international is not, on the list I just read. Maybe a mistake? There is a list of ranking/non-ranking events. Int'l is listed as non-ranking. What's weird is it IS listed as ranking on their FB announcement. The other hopefully was a misprint.Matchroom mention Pat Fleming multiple times in the descriptions. World #1 Ouchan is mentioned as the International Open champion. They announced what amounts to a real professional 9ball tour. IMO that's pretty big news.I'm probably just cranky returning to work after 3 weeks, but I watched the whole thing and it just sounded like a lot of words to say nothing. I'll need to watch again later.
You're probably right. MR is bigger, better organized, and better backed than the CSI/Pred camp. Eventually it may look like the world tennis tour with events all over and 4-5 majors where all the big-dogs play. If i was CSI/Pred i'd be getting cozy as possible with MR.Fantabulous. This is long overdue -a World 9 Ball Tour.
They are adding 2 big new “major events” this year-UK Open and European Open. Total 10 ranking events (including 4 blue ribbon/major events).
I think this is push back against CSI/ Predator 10 ball alliance. Predator has been ramping up the calendar with all kinds of 10 ball events. Though 9 ball and 10 ball are different disciplines, problem is they are both fighting for same set of players. So we will be witnessing a Battle Royale shaping up MR vs CSI/Predator or 9ball v 10ball. There is finite number of available days in the calendar so practically there is not enough room for both in the long run. My money’s on MR and 9 ball to dominate the pool space and deservedly so.![]()
