Big Match Starting - Dechaine vs Orcullo

Live scoring says it's over.

11 to 8 Orcullo.

Unreal that championships in pool are decided by bad racks bad rolls and fouls that players refuse to call on themselves. What a joke.

Right, because their shotmaking wasn't a factor at all. Get the heck out of here.

Interesting occurrence in rack 4. Orcullo has ball in hand but fouls, hitting the 8 first instead of the 2. No one sees the foul though (including Dennis), so instead of ball in hand Mike plays a safe, and Orcullo ends up winning the rack to go up 3-1.

Did the announcers see it? Thats apa stuff right there. You have to call it on yourself, but orcollo was the one who stood up during world cup to shark mika....so im guessing he isnt that honorable when it comes to decorum

Not true.I was sitting closer than anyone to that shot (7ft away)and it was a good hit.

If you give up ball on hand to a pro iit's that game plus break. One BIH is probably a 3 game swing. It makes all the difference when he lost by 3. Both announcers called foul including the omnipotent Mark Wilson.

just an fyi; it was *definitely* a bad hit.

Both announcers from the booth, Mark & John, saw it real time and called it then the replays bore it out that Dennis def brushed (shivered) the 8 ball with whitey on the way in to the 2b.

No doubt about it.

The question is should Dennis have called it - did he see it?

The cue ball, the 8b and the 2b were all within maybe 2-3 inches of one another.

the commentators saw it...

Sorry...but they replayed it several times and the eight moved first every single time. It was without question, 100% a bad hit. Perhaps it was one of those instances that was easier to see on camera. However, if you're shooting from 12 inches away with your eyes at table level, it would be nearly impossible not to see it.

How does Orcollo not see his foul and call it on himself???

Orcollo up 10 to 8 breaking. What a bunch of BS. Pool sucks. Dechaine was robbed. Hope he wins somehow.

There have been a few other instances when Orcollo has been less than honest during matches.

You have 16 players left. This is a livestream table. Why can't they adapt rules to permit a ref to review indisputable video evidence of a foul? Somebody needs to write this into the rules. Any other sport this crap would never fly.

I don't know why there is not a ref on the tv table to begin with full time, especially since they are doing all ball fouls. If you have all ball fouls you need a ref to watch. You can have the other player not see a foul because of a body in the way, there will be arguements.

Well from my angle it looked good.If the camera showed a close up and it was then I apologize as from my angle it looked like a good hit.Maybe shame on Orcullo then for not telling on himself or Descaine for not calling over a referee to watch the hit.

I believe the ref, during the archer-Woodward match, reviewed the tape to see if three balls passed the side pocket.

If you see the foul as the non shooting player the shooter still can deny it? Just discredits the game. It's shameful.

Who did Orcullo do this to last time? I forget it but I know he did it on an obvious foul like this.

Rob Melrose at Derby comes to mind.

Not a foul, but just questionable contact.

Just to be clear...it was not Rob Melrose who was acting questionably.

I hope Mike still wins this event but I hope even more Orcullo goes 2 and out from here. He should be sleeping in his car eating out of dumpsters like the good old days. Hard to pull for a guy with no honor.

i could count on my hand how many times I've seen a player call a foul on himself , fact is it didn't cause Mike to choke later in the match ,, the better player won ,,

If he pulled this move on SVB you guys would sing a different tune.

I play guys all the time for decent money. If you pull this move on me in action you are gonna have to pull the money outta my cold dead hand.

The guys I play with call fouls on themselves all the time as do I. There is only one right way to be. You shouldn't be able to get away with it on a livestream match. What a dirt bag.

Dennis is one of the absolute top players on earth; that is understood.

In the game of 9b, MD is, imo, and many others, the #2 man in America.

So, yes, I think Dennis is the better player.

but...

Mike was in this match and while he may have dogged a shot or two later in the match, I wouldn't discount the possibilities that could have flowed from his getting ball in hand on DO's foul that wasn't called.

That foul was in game 4.

What's the formula for what players at this level are punished for giving up ball in hand in 9b?

Mike lost 11-8.

It *could have* made a difference. not certain, but def could have. ;)

MD has been known to string a few.
