Bigfoot updates?

Mika is and has been a force for many years. Like him or hate him the man can play. If I were betting my money would have been on Dennis.

Mika won 2 US Opens in a row not that long ago and was the first one to do that. I agree that DO was the favorite but when Mika is on...............

Nick Varner was the first to win 2 U.S. Opens (9-ball) in a row.

He knew what those jubilant crowds did not know, but could have learned from books; that the plague bacillus never dies or disappears for good...and that perhaps the day would come when, for the bane and the enlightening of men, it would rouse up its rats again and send them forth to die in a happy city."

So you read Camus...very good...an existentialist with a pool cue...a rarity...

Ah Thanks- I knew that at one time but not lately. However you must admit the tourny was much smaller when Nick won it.
HUH?????? Look at the fields back then. Efren, Buddy, Sigel you name 'em they played. You're trying to say NV won two in a row 'cause the fields were smaller??? Put the pipe down before it burns your lips.

I think you need to put the pipe down if you think the field was as strong then as it is now. You have many more international players making the trip to the US Open. Back in Nick’s day, he had to contend with one Filipino player. Maybe 2. Now, you have to get through the best the world has to offer.

And it's not even close .
Nick did not get to the finals after Efren beat him in '94.

When SVB won his last US Open, he had to beat SEVERAL world champions and ex-US Open champions in the last two days. Euros and Asians. And had to beat Dennis in the finals. Dennis shot over .900 and lost .
