Biggest Spot Ever Witnessed?

I have seen people give all kinds of spots and lose. But I saw Johnny Archer give Leroy Wiggler the 3, 5, 7 and the breaks for $500 race to 7 and beat Leroy bad. It was at a regional tour event in Atlanta. Leroy just pays him and shews him off when Johhny asked if he wanted to play another. Leroy then said is there anyone else in the room who wants to give me the same spot. Parica and a lot of top players were there, but there were no more takers. Leroy was funny guy. Pros offered to play him using a bridge for every shot or shoot behind their backs, but he was firm about what he wanted. During the players auction they couldn't get a $10 opening bid on him so he sends a girl in to bid a $100 on himself. His bankroll was huge that weekend.

I once played a whole league end 8 ball tournament with my jump cue....won first four matches and then bowed out early....had to leave early anyway...thats why i played that way...didnt expect to win that much or run as many racks as i did...breaks included...lol

I haven't sweated many matches myself. But the biggest spot I have ever given was 47 on the wire in a 50 point game of straight pool. I won.

The biggest spot I have recieved was 4 games on the wire in a race to 7 playing 9 ball. I lost and was mighty embarrassed.

On a brighter note a guy offered me 40 point spot in $50 game of snooker. I won the game 118-0. I don't think he was expecting a break of 78 from me.:D

Saw a 9 ball game with an interesting spot. The spot was every ball, the weaker player simply had to make the lowest ball on the table, or the nine. The catch was that the better player got all the breaks and ball in hand after the break. The better player killed the weaker one, either ran out or locked him up.

I saw John Hennessee give a guy at JOB's the breaks, the wild three, and the last three in a 5 ahead set for 500 a couple of weeks ago. It wound up being to much of a spot to give up.:)

I watched a nameless pro in LA give a local A The Orange Crush, All the breaks and 2 on the wire, Race to 5's for $500.00

Pro Lost 4 sets on the hill each time. Pro tried to Hi-Roll the guy into 2K a set. A player says just one minute...walks around the hall borrowing money from everyone in sight and comes back and wants to play 3.5K, Race to 7, Winner Breaks, WILD 4UP, None on the wire.

Pro comes back with same game as before for for the $3500.00...back and forth...A player starts to break down cue...Pro say ah F'it wild four it is after break, Wild 6 during break. A player says OK and wins flip.

Breaks 7 on Snap, 1-0
Breaks 7 on Snap, 2-0
Breaks & Run to 4, 3-0
Breaks makes 4 ball, Runs Out, 4-0
Breaks 8 on Snap, 5-0
Breaks 7 on Snap, 6-0
Breaks MAKES THE NINE....PLACE GOES NUTS

Pro cool as could be puts his cue on the table...walks over to wall. Grabs House cue and snaps it over his knee. A player says pay me and we'll go again (they where squaring up after every set). Pro was a little short but A player let him slide and threw him $50,00 for the road.

I once saw player A put up 20K of her wallets money.
Player A plays a few matches and wins.

Player A receives a few hundred cash, but then gets stuck with an invoice for 10K.

Another time I saw player A put up 2K. Player A wins money but then gets stiffed. Player A has a security policy for a percentage of that money.

Security policy gets activated and money gets issued.

The story is a lot better without the vagueness.

May not be the biggest, but I thought it was huge. In 2001 at Q-Masters I saw Corey Deuel give some guy the breaks and ball in hand after the break playing 1P.

It does sound huge. If I were to get that spot, I think I'd change my break to spread the balls a little bit more than normal, wouldn't you?

You got the ability to drop them tanks too? LOL I think that would beat Efren if you hit the target. Leonard

read the first page about big spots

Somebody telling about the biggest spots he's seen and they were drop targets please just go read it and you might have an idea how you could beat Efren. LOL Leonard IT was Trustyrusty.

> It's probably a good thing I haven't hit the lottery, because I'd be supporting a LOT of these guys if they wanted to try giving me those spots. I don't even know if I can get there with some of them, but they'll kill me before I'll quit, because until proven otherwise,I can't believe I play bad enough to lose with a crazy spot like the 3,5,7 and the break. Like Jude said,I'd want to kill myself if I did.

The biggest spot I've ever given was 9 on the wire to 13,to a guy maybe an APA 4 speed, and won 3 of 4 sets,on the cheap too. He was the only guy around, and I wanted to play so bad I let him set the bet at 20 a set. I've given this spot probably 15 times, and won like 10. No one has ever offered me the same spot, and I'm not saying there aren't some that could do it and get away with it,but if someone did I'd have to unload if I had the cash to be gambling in the first place. My worst nightmare is to be somewhere when an opportunity like this comes up again, and be busted as far as expendable income. Jack Hines offered to give me the call-5 once,I only had like 100 bucks on me,and no one was there that had enough cash to stake me. He'd have had me for life. Tommy D.

Biggest spot I've given: Wild 1 and the breaks. I won 2 sets and then I gave him the wild 1 and 2. I won another set and he quit.

Biggest spot I've recieved: 2,4,6,8 wild with the breaks and no push out. I lost 2 games. 1st one I broke dry and he ran out. 2nd one I broke and left myself hooked; he beat me with 3 fouls. I ended up winning $20 before he quit.

Atlanta Danny Greer, 1984, Cassidy's - Houston, Tx., gave a guy the 4 out and beat him out of 3 dimes with me backing him. What I didn't know was Danny had lost 1500 before I showed up giving the same guy the 5 out.

Houston, 1985, Efren's boys offer me the 6 out for a minimum $100 a game. I say the six out and the snaps. They say no snaps, but will give the 5 out. I knew I couldn't win, so I said "El Paso".

I spotted a guy any ball he made legit in a race to 10, 9 ball. I beat him 10-1 for 200 clams. It wasn't that I played that good, he just played that bad. He got bit by the gamblin' bug and it was more of a lesson to prove he wasn't ready.

I saw the same one pocket match that ironman mentioned above between Cliff Joyner and a local guy with Cliff spotting him 14-4. Most phenomenal one pocket I ever saw. Wish I had a video of that match, I'd be rich selling copies of it.

About 15 years ago, a man played me using a mop handle. It was one of those big fat mop handles. Amost the size of the butt of a cue. He took the mop head off, but it still had the metal clamp on the end of it.

I ended up calling in sick at my job in order to keep playing. I ended up losing $50 plus a days pay.

ive always put my boy tony chohan in action. ive known him since he was 12. i used to tell him if he was a foot shorter hed be round. anyways, i used to play a couple of guys scotch doubles eight ball , hundred a man a game. one of my friend out of sacramento would come up to play in our league on thursdays just to play with us. i put up all the money. about a year into this tony catches wind of it and shows up. he wants to play one of the guys that was a solid A player , i think his handi cap in the usppa was like 101 or something. offers him the six and the cracks. wants me to put him in for 500 a set. tony drills him 3 sets. now my doubles match was going good. we are up like 16 or 18 hundred. tony starts barking at one of our oppenents and gives him the 5 and the cracks. beats him out of a thousand.this other guy didnt play as well as the first, but still played well. when he played the second guy , the first took his spot in our doubles match and you know what happens to your brain after getting tourtured like that we had a very very good night.

on the flip side im in reno about 2 years ago and tony is looking for a stakehorse to play this phillipino that nobodys heard of. tonys says, and i qoute "he wants to give me the eight . theres only a handfull of people in the world that can give me the eight and he aint one of them!" so i kick in a thousand their playin ten ahead for $3500. tony loses on day two. oh ya, the phillipino, it was marlon manilo.
