Biggest Spot Ever Witnessed?

biggest spot I ever wittnessed was 80 no count straight pool. The spotter, Andy Toth won easily running 100's all over the place.

come to think of it, I never got a big spot from anyone. I was more of a play anyone even for cheap money guy.

The most I have given out was 9/4 and the break 1 hole. I broke even, that was a tough spot!

I have given 40 to 50 straight pool and won, but it was robbing.

I have heard about Efren giving good players 12/4!

I saw a guy give Angry White the break, ball in hand after the break and the 2 ball in Atlanta....and they broke even.

Saw a 9 ball game with an interesting spot. The spot was every ball, the weaker player simply had to make the lowest ball on the table, or the nine. The catch was that the better player got all the breaks and ball in hand after the break. The better player killed the weaker one, either ran out or locked him up.

Jim
ive seen that done around here.....if youre a decent ghost player you can offer this spot up and alot of lesser players will jump on it. Its actually easier than the ghost because you dont have to run out, you can play a good safe and get the ball back.

Somebody telling about the biggest spots he's seen and they were drop targets please just go read it and you might have an idea how you could beat Efren. LOL Leonard IT was Trustyrusty.

Yeah, I probably could beat Efren if I dropped a tank on him..

Maybe..

But there is no "probably" to it if he gave me the breaks and ball in hand in One Pocket. I KNOW I'd have Efren locked up in that game..:D

I told you Doug, you got the same game, any time you want when I get back from Iraq, any amount you want.:) The last time I told you that, you said you were "retired" from pool.

Big Arm John

Hustler, Big Arm John (yes his arms are big) gives our local players this spot. 9 Ball on a Bar Table, shoot any ball (non-rotation) but making the 9-Ball last, and sometimes also gives up the breaks with that. Also he gives players of good caliber the last 6... Whatever you want to play for doesn't matter...

He's Getting Better.....Though

I haven't played in 25 months and you can NEVER get your money back. As a matter of fact, I just won $20 more thanks to you. My wife said that you would reply within 5 minutes and told her that it would be a least 10 minutes...

Fair enough. As long as you realize that I WOULD get it back if you played, I'm satisfied.. Too bad. I'm gonna be loaded when I come back. I'm gonna try to get Richie to spot me something ridiculous when I come back. I'm planning on dumping in the Capone's tournaments for weeks to get the games I want.

Oh Pa LEEZ. We all know your wife has no interest in the game, Doug. She's probably grinding up Geritol to put in yer TV dinner.

Yap yap yap..

A guy I used to play 14.1 with all the time came from Rochester and played in Irving Crane's home room. Crane used to give him 99 on 100 -- the kid had to make one ball, no additional restrictions -- for the time. I suspect that Crane just didn't want to rack, and was figuring to get the kid on a few fouls before he ever made a shot.

There was a guy a few years back that would let you break a rack of eight ball, and then he would remove all of your object balls except one after the break. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen, we won almost every time.

Sucker bet. I used to offer this to soldiers who got too lippy with me when I was shooting in the NCO club.

The secret is, he is always going to be hooked on the one ball you leave. He kicks at it, and misses it, and you have none of his balls in your way. Any halfway decent player should be able to run out every time.

I got one guy on this bet for $100.00. And he still liked the game!!:D

i saw tony miller give a girl the blue thru (2 out) playing 9 ball for a hundred a game and she barbecued him 12 games. lol. right before the first game he just snickered" im stealing this money." tony never could stand to take the money out of the pool room. lol

Very true. You can give this spot to most people of any skill level and still be the favorite. The run outs are very easy and safeties are beyond easy.

about 10 years ago...when i was playing all the time and still only a 4 speed in the local tournaments another 4 speed wanted to gamble. I didnt really gamble due to being scared, so I called a friend and told him the rules. I get all the breaks, ball in hand after the breaks regardless if I make a ball and the 5 and out. Friend says your a fool to not take it, just take your time like you do when u play me (he was one of 3 top shooters in area). So I accept the challenge and play this kid for over 2 hours at 20 a set races to 5. When its all said and done I drilled him for close to 400 bucks. He swears he can beat me at the game and wants action the next night. Only problem, those dayum Cherry Masters had my number and his money went right into those...lol

May not be the biggest, but I thought it was huge. In 2001 at Q-Masters I saw Corey Deuel give some guy the breaks and ball in hand after the break playing 1P.

I was there too. He was playing Jet from Chicago. Corey had a great trip that year, won in the backrooms and beat Mika in the US Open finals 11-0.

In the late sixties I played "Archie the Greek" (yes the same Archie that almost owned Vegas}. I gave him the three out and all were wild on the break. We posted $1000 on a seven ahead set. I knew going in that I would have to outrun the nuts. I gave him this game out of courtesy because he was always gave me a $100 one pocket game at 11 to 4 which I always won. He just liked action. Anyway going back to the nine ball game I did manage to get to case game a couple of times but I just couldn't nail down that last game. He would bring it back to even or better once he got to break. When he made a ball on the break chances are it was one of his. We pressed the bet a couple of times when I realized that I did have a chance to win. Bet was now $2500. Sadly he wore me down and I finally lost. Took about 20 hours. That was a lot of money back then. About three months wages for most folks.

I played him like 5 years ago. He gave me the last 4 on a bar box and we broke even. Neither one of us could make a ball on the break, I'm convinced that's why I didn't bust him... well that and we were only playing for $10 a rack.
