I get regular daily mail from $Bill and Pelican. I have not heard from them in days since the huricane.

They are both great guys and I am praying for their safety.

If anyone hears from them please let me know,

Eydie

A lot of the communications in the Gulf Coast/New Orleans area are down. Been trying to reach some people in Biloxi/Gulfport area since Tuesday, to no avail. May take a while to normalize down there.

I am pretty sure Pelican and his gang are fine. They been posting on SouthernBilliards board almost daily, either Pelican or Cyco. Not sure about $Bill. I am sure he is okay...without power probably...but will let you know if I hear from him.

I'm hoping to see Hemicudas posting soon. Located in Jackson, MS, I'm not sure how hard they got hit by Katrina.

I also would like to hear if anyone has had contact with JoeyA. I read that he did not evaculate Metairie, which is located 10 miles northwest of New Orleans central.

Did anybody watch the LIVE broadcast last night (Friday) on NBC, "A Concert for Hurricane Relief"?

Musicians from New Orleans, Mississippi, and Alabama gave a heartfelt performance hoping to raise monies. Wynton Marsalis with his horn ensemble belted out the "Bourbon Street Parade" which was really cool.

The hit of the night for me came at the end, starring Harry Connick, Jr., who enjoys the title bestowed upon him as the "Mayor of New Orleans" with the common folk. When he played "The Saints Come Marching In," everybody -- Aaron Neville, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and all of the other stars -- joined in. It really showcased the fine spirit of the South.

I saw Harry on the Today Show yesterday morning and he was walking around New Orleans trying to help out. He was talking to people outside the Super Dome too. His voice was almost gone when he was talking to Katie. He was genuinely upset that very little aid seemed to be coming in. Katie said his heartfelt words almost brought her to tears. This was and continues to be an awful tragedy of epic proportions!!

Just got this from $Bill:

"I just got lights back on 30 min. ago. 2 trees hit the house but we are all OK. We had 90mph winds here in Jackson. 6 days the lights were out. I will let you know if I hear from him or Gulfport Doc. He is a good guy too."

I am so glad that he is ok, $Bill is a dear man and great friend.

Thanks Eydie, I made friends with $Bill last year. We have mutual friends and although we have never met in person, I consider him a friend. We have communicated quite a bit during the last year about pool and a few other things. I am so happy to hear Him and Pelican are OK.

$Bill is OK

He just sent me some pics and it looks like they got hit pretty hard. He says all are well though. That's what counts. :)

Yea, he dropped me some pic's too. I'm very happy they came thru with only the damage to the house and none of them were injured.

Thanks to all of youzzzzzzzzzzz guys

Your prayers and good wishes are greatly appreciated. Yea, we are all ok. Katrina wasn't as nice to our house though.

Welcome back to one of my favorites on the forum. I'm sorry Katrina was so unkind to your property, but delighted to learn that you're safe and sound.

As usual, SJM said it best. We're so glad to hear that you're safe! I don't really notice the location of the members here & originally thought that I was very lucky not to have known anyone down in that area. Reading the posts, I realize there's quite a few on the forum from that area. So far we keep getting good updates, I pray that the news continues to be good until all are accounted for.
