Has anyone seen him playing in Florida? He's a great 14.1 player and just as handy in 9 ball. I saw him play Mike Zuglan every week in the 70s in Albany at the Golden Cue. 100 point games, with many runs of 100 and out. I bought him in a straight pool calcutta in Binghamton and pretty much nobody knew him. Yes, he won it. We cashed out of the NYS 8 ball together for 4th and 5th, and a young shooter from Utica asked Bill if he'd like some $50 a rack 9 ball action. He had another young fellow from Buffalo he was backing. They settled on a table away from everyone and began play. The Utica player said to me "Your buddy doesn't know who he's playing....that's Johnny Archer's cousin from Buffalo." I replied to him "Well, I hope he plays like Johnny Archer, because that's Chicken man from Massachusetts." Bill beat him for $500 in about 40 minutes.
 
I'd like to know about Bill too! Haven't heard anything about him in years. Highly respected player in the NE for many, many years.
 
Chicken Man…I was on the hill at Florence’s place…race to seven…and I hooked him real good…he came off three rails at warp speed…
….lucked a ball and I never got to play a ball in after that…Billy was a fine player.

edit…when I was on the hill, he had nothing on the wire.

I used to see him at the Derby, its been at least 5 years ago, seems to me he was selling cue also, had a large dealer case filled with cues.

Curious, as I did not see Mike play until 1990. I rate Zuglan in the top 10 in the U.S. in 14.1 in the 90s. How good was Mike Zugalan in the 70s? He was in his late teens and early 20s then, I don't think he competed in pro 14.1 tournaments back then, unless I am mistaken. I remember Bill Dunmore showing up at Mike's early Joss tour events in CT. in the early 1990s, but he did not do well - he was already 50 by then, probably not as sharp as he was in the 1970s.

The 1970s is a little early for Zuglan. I think his serious competitive days began in about 1986. By the early 1990s, he was among the top handful at 14.1 in the country, along with Mike Sigel, Nick Varner, Dallas West, Jim Rempe, Steve Mizerak, Ray Martin and Allen Hopkins. FYI, when Grady Matthews made book at the 1992 US Open, he had Zuglan as a slight favorite to win the event above Sigel. Unfortunately for Zuglan, Sigel hit him with 150 and out in the winner's bracket semifinals and in the loser's bracket final Dallas West beat him in two innings. Tough action!

I heard he was making cues at one point but never saw any of them.
His name came up in conversation the other day and was wondering where he was currently?

I’d like to know his whereabouts also….I always liked him.
