Looking for info in S. Florida where i could purchase good spectator chairs.
The ones i see around have the pool ball print.{not interested}
I am looking for a good chair with a foot rest and a cue holder.
Anyone have any ideas who sells the best for the least?

South Florida should still have some Rec Warehouse locations left. Most of their spectator chairs were overpriced - BUT - their locations are dropping fast (victim of bad FL economy) look for a 'lost our lease' location (...er , I mean a 'we can't pay our rent' location) and find some 70% off floor models. Good hunting

The nicest I've seen are the Brunswick chairs. I have two of them and like them alot. They have drawers under the seat, which is very handy for keeping your pool essentials in. I'll let you in on a little secret...If you are able to make it to a major WPBA event, the chairs they use for the televised finals, which are the Brunswicks, are usually for sale when the event is done. Back when I got mine, the chairs were going for $750.00 per chair retail, I got two chairs from the event for $700.00 and got a VIP pass for the finals to boot. When the event was finished I had my picture taken with Allison Fisher with her sitting in the chair and I had her sign and date the chair on the bottom underneath the drawer. I also did the same with Tiffany Nelson, the runner-up. Not a bad little deal since I was already in the market for those chairs. Months later, I got to see my chairs on t.v.:grin-square:

Maybe there's a handy AZ member out there who would like to build some chairs. I would love to add a few spectator chairs to my room but the cheapest ones I have found were about $300 each and I just don't have the kind of cash.

Brunswick makes a helluva chair, albeit they retail for big $$. They also have the combination chair - where two are connected as they straddle a nice table. The chairs have big arms with cue notches and beverage holder insets with cork bottoms. They're sturdy and beautiful.

Here's info on the single chair:

With the economy in the crapper, I imagine you could do well hitting the 'net. I'd go to wanted/for sale here, Ebay and Craigslist for starters. Good Luck!

I'm pretty sure it's $800 for 2 chairs and the shelving in between. They call it a chair unit because although it is two chairs, it is all one piece. If you've ever been to the derby, they are all over the place.

It's not, at least for the Brunswick chairs. They're $799 for a single. Click on the 2nd link I provided on my previous post in this thread.

Thanks for the responses. The Brunswick is pretty much what i am looking for but not ready to spend $800 for a single chair. That price seems out of line in todays economy. You can go into any furniture store and buy leather couches for $800, so why is this chair so expensive. Could it be because they believe they have the market cornered. Keep the ideas coming.

if you want to spend some $$$ and not lose a penny come time to sell them, google "Stickley Chairs" Therer are many different styles some are not sutiable for pool, others are the dead nutz, I havent bought any yet nut i will someday. They are the real deal and about 100 years old and hold their value.

When I got my table a couple years ago I also went out shopiing for these players chairs.
My first stop was a Brunswick dealer, "HOLY CRAP" when I saw the price.
Next stop was a place that sold hot tubs and also sold billiard equipment as a sideline. I think the name of the place was Sequoia Spas. They had similar chairs, lil lighter weight, for $199 each. I purchased 3 and I also got 4 Lucasi house cues.
Check around, there are other options other than Brunswick.
Good luck......................

They're $800 each?!?!?!?! :yikes:

No, not $800 each.

The prices on the Diamond web site for a "chair unit" are for two chairs and the connecting accessory tray that fits between the two chairs. This is not my guess; it is a fact.

The chairs can be used connected or separated.

And along this same line of thought, over the years I have seen the genuine antique Brunswick (Balke Collender?) spectator chairs occasionally listed on ebay. They do fetch a pretty penny, though, but as Fatboy said and I agree, you could use them as long as you wish and likely never lose a dime.

I also saw those ones just listed in the aZb for sale section yesterday; they didn't look to bad for $220 each incl shipping. The worst that could happen if you got a pair of those is you eventually may lose $440.

What did you thinkod those, Bob?

Best,
Brian kc

I guess I didn't read far enough. Sticker shock got me good! The fact that it's two chairs and a center unit thingie is a little less unsettling. That I would actually consider buying.

Not sure about the double but a single is $800.
The chairs for 220 weren't bad but they have to be put together and i'm not sure how well they will hold up. May have to spring for 4450 on a chair i saw.
