Billiard shoes • finally

Since there isn't any particular "stressful" athletic feats involved (such as with track, basketball, football, tennis, cross training, etc.), it would seem rather silly for a manufacturer to attempt to create a shoe specifically for billiards. This is especially true considering the small market.

Common sense dictates the shoe should be comfortable and provide support for standing and walking for longer period of times. I personally find Ecco and New Balance Tennis Shoes to work great. Stan Shuffett gives a lot of lessons which means he's on his feet a ton, he swears by Mephisto. I've heard the Mephisto are good but they're also quite pricey. You can get a good pair of Ecco for $125 to $150.

I took Stan's advice about the Mephistos and bought two pair, one black and one brown. They are extremely comfortable. Kind of heavy shoes.... but I am happy with them.......just sayin....

Interesting thing about shoes and playing pool, the floor surface and the shoe surface either work well together or they don't. There is never going to be one preferred shoe sole for pool due to the differences in flooring and conditions at different venues. Traction is critical, as is too much traction can be bad or too little. Those with high natural arches can of course play longer than those with feet of poorer condition and those with good arches can play in Any shoe.

The best thing I've found were a pair of $60 insoles. Total support I think they're called. I wear them in my Sanuk boat looking casual shoes.

I wonder if he has a home table.

I've thought about this before, if I had a home table I'd probably end up playing barefoot all the time as that is how I am when I'm at home. Then if I was out playing I could see how playing in shoes could feel strange. I think I'd go the minimalist running shoe route rather than actually going barefoot at the pool hall, but I could see where the impetus fore barefoot play could come from.

Did you check out the shoes Mike Dechaine was wearing at the Ocean State this past weekend? The commentators were talking about how if you buy a pair from the store Mike got his from, they'll donate a pair to some homeless person. I'm not sure, but they looked a bit like the Kung Fu/Tai Chi slippers I used to wear back when I was into those arts.

If so, they are the most comfy way to feel almost barefoot while still protecting your feet and providing cleanliness and some sense of social decenty. I haven't had a pair in 20 years, but I do have a table at home, and I am barefoot most of the time. So, naturally, I usually play barefoot.

I would like to get a pair or two from the store MD got his from (if they are what I think they are). It would be cool to know I helped get some homeless dude some shoes. Who knows, maybe he's a pool player?

I like this idea.
My shoes are slipping and sliding all over the place unless I wear my running shoes.
So I might get these to see if I slide less and can still look decent.
Most of the regular shoes slip too much on the carpets.

On Sundays I play for about 6 -7 hours straight and let me tell you, at the end of the day I feel like I just ran a marathon, which I do at time........lol

Might just have to give these a try.

Moose's I hope your business does very well in the future.

Where does one get these shoes?

Thanks

The shoes are hottt!, let the haters hate.

I want both pair one black, one brown, where do I order?

When I beat someone down, I can finally say... it's the shoes man.

Oh BTW, for the posters who complain about your feet hurting... It aint your shoes. It's most likely your flat feet from playing too much god damn pool ^_^.

Head to the good feet store and drop the $500 for fallen arch supports.

Oh and one more thing... I want a free t-shirt too, for being the first TO NOT slam your product on this forum. j/k.

They are hot!

And so comfortable that Mika Immonen wears them on trans-continental flights
as well as competitions.
Our website will open soon, but I can take orders to our azb inbox or by facebook message.
Have to start making t-shirts. ;)

Can you make a comfortable style with your soles that look similar to this?

I would buy a pair.

Do the people who worry about "billiard shoes" also have a "billiard wallet" that automatically dispenses your cash in all the popular betting amounts? You could have
"The Nit" wallet, that once the money goes in it never comes out.
"The Im Still Learning" wallet that dispenses $5s, $10s and $20s readily.
"The Got a Hunch? Bet a Bunch" wallet that every time you take it out of your pocket , it drops all of your cash on the floor.
"The Locksmith" wallet that wont let you post without the nuts.
"The Player" wallet, that will hold whatever money you put into, and wont fold no matter how much pressure you apply.
And lastly, "The Pro" wallet that will accept money, but theres never any to put in it.

You forgot the "Gullible Wallet". It dispenses money for the latest billiard crazes...even shoes.

Uh oh. I sense Cleary posting with another manic crusade about dress codes in Pool....

Eric

Like it matters... the people involved in pool are too damn out of touch to realize how stupid they look. If they prefer us to look like butlers, we will look like butlers... well, I won't. Either will the sleeveless Hu.
