Well, I finally found a cheap table for my house. Can't play full games but can do drills. Table is ATI, 4x8 (44in.) 4.5 in mouth, 4 in throat, 1.5 in shelf. Took Exam 1, 5 times in the last 3 weeks.
1st - F1-10, F2-6, F3-6, F4-2, F5-1, F6-6, F7-9, F8-8 = 48 = Same score as last year.
2nd - F1-8, F2-4, F3-6, F4-3, F5-2, F6-4, F7-10, F8-8 = 45
3rd - F1-9, F2-6, F3-8, F4-1, F5-6, F6-7, F7-9, F8-12 = 58 - Improved F5 & F8
4th - F1-10, F2-6, F3-8, F4-2, F5-8, F6-7, F7-11, F8-10 = 62
5th - F1-8, F2-6, F3-9, F4-4, F5-8, F6-5, F7-9, F8-13 = 62

I need to spend time on F4 - Draw, I'm either drawing 4 inches or drawing 4 feet.
Can't do exam 2 until I take out a wall.

That's an amazing amount of improvement in a relatively short amount of time. Good job! If you want some help with that draw shot, see the videos and resources on the draw shot technique advice and drills resource page.

Thank you Dave for posting a "reminder" about this. It was something I caught when I first joined AZ, but then it slipped off my radar as life got busy. I am looking forward to taking/submitting the examinations later this year, once I have had a chance to back into the swing of pool. I think going through the practice drills for this exam will be a huge help to my constant inconsistency.

As an aside though, this leads me to a question about the future of the exam. One of these days, you and the other involved instructors will eventually choose to move on from overseeing the BU examinations to pursue other interests. But just out of curiosity, years from now, do you think you will bring others into the fold to continue oversight of BU?

Perhaps it is too early in the life of BU to ask the question. I'm just curious because I think the BU exams and drills are a great thing for the pool community, and I hope it continues on for future pool players to participate in.

I'm glad you plan to give the exams a try. Please post your results after your first attempt them, and maybe again in the future to see how much you can improve over time.

We are constantly bringing other instructors into the fold. Here's the current list of BU instructors.

Regardless, I certainly plan to be around a while to maintain and oversee the BU.

Not everybody likes this sort of thing, but it is fun and can be helpful to rate your level of play and monitor improvement over time in a thorough and methodical way.

Just curious of your TDF rating can adjust some of the billiard university results? Is a bachelor's degree on a table with a TDF of 1.10 held to a higher regard compared to a masters degree on a table with a .74 TDF?

That was my original intent in designing the TDF system, but this is really not an appropriate (or accurate) way to adjust the scores. Instead, we decided to just list all of the table info with the scores (on the AZB BU thread and on the BU alumni list) so the scores can be put into proper perspective. Also, the higher BU diploma levels are only granted for exams taken on a 9' (or larger) table (see the detailed BU Exam Instructions for more info).

Drill S10 in Exam II uses the 9-ball break. We probably won't change this, but thank you for the suggestion. BTW, using a cut break is not the best approach in the drill, because you lose a point if the CB hits a cushion.
