You will appreciate AZB all the more if you stop by Billiards Digest Cue Chalk Board, as I did tonight. Insult, respond, repeat, over and over. The board seems to be getting the FL treatment, but with impeccable grammar, by someone who's banned here (thank you, Mr. Wilson).

A shame - I remember a lot of good stuff on that board in years past.

Never go there. The only time that I have ever used that site was when there was trouble getting the AZ forum to see if other AZ member were posting that the AZ site was down.

One of the reasons I chose not to go there any more was that someone highly regarded here {by most, anyway} literally drove off a new poster. It pissed me off that the person was allowed to get away with it. It wouldn't happen here, thanks, Mike!!

A shame - I remember a lot of good stuff on that board in years past.

There is a group of long-time members of that forum who have an excellent comraderie. In times gone by, that forum was one of my favorites to read about pool strategies, players, upcoming events, tournament trip reports, et cetera.

Of course, most people in the pool forum world, if I may call us that, know that some of those veteran Billiards Digest Cue Chalk Board members meet every year at the U.S. Open and have a get-together to include a nice dinner and a pool tournament.

Today, I see a platoon of posters on the Billiards Digest Cue Chalk Board forum, some of whom committed suicide on this forum, were banned on this forum and/or who continually bash this forum at every opportunity elsewhere. In fact, many of them wouldn't have much to write about if it were not for their disdain and hatred for AzBilliards Discussion Forum. Though they claim to despise this place, it is obvious by their posts on other pool-related Internet sites that they definitely read this forum on a fairly frequent basis. God forbid they write about pool, when there's an AzBilliards forum to bash. :grin:

RSB NewsGroup, though still in existence, will never be the same as it used to be. Many of its veteran posters are on AzBilliards today, and I think they may still post on RSB from time to time, maybe hoping it will return to a sense of normalcy.

When Billiards Digest website was refurbished and updated, I thought their new forum was kind of cool. It just does not have the traffic as it used to have.

Then again, if you go to a pool tournament on American soil, it doesn't seem to have the same popularity and traffic it used to have either.

I personally would like to see all pool-related forums, discussion boards, and NewsGroups flourish. The more, the better, I say.

They suck ther's not a pool player on that site. I bought a new cue awhile back and ask for a reveiw . They talked to me like a DOG. Ther'e one jerk with a stupid name who thinks he knows it all Won't say his name but it starts with an A and ends in hole.

I started out over on CCB years ago. It used to be a better than it is now. A lot of people have become disgusted and left because of a few posters. There is only one active thread in the pool forum now and it is the trouble makers in there doing their thing. The NPR is just as bad. There's one woman in there that has over nine thousand posts and they are all NPR. Does she even play pool?

I estimate there are only a dozen or so people left on the board. They have really let the place go.

I was one of the original posters on the CCB.

Originally, the CCB was like a bulletin board format, kinda like RSB viewed thru Google. Anyone could post without registering. In '02, the format changed so that a user name and password was needed. That was also the time when things started to peak. I'd say 02 to 04 was the peak for CCB. In 04, AZB was growing and one poster showed up on CCB, posting/dominating every single thread and turning every topic into his personal pulpit. That, IMO, was when the CCB "jumped the shark".

I still post with some of the old timers, as well as some of the newer ones. The board is not nearly what it was.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'll be posting there anymore, I think I got banned. Due to a post I made defending myself from a kook whose initials are (A V 8 4 F U N )looks like the mods banned everybody, throwing the baby out with the bath water. C'est la vie.
