After not having it for a few years in January I got a subscription to in my opinion the only pool magazine worth getting....billiards digest. They are saying my first magazine won't get to me until the beginning of April! Now I'm not familiar with the publishing business but can some one please explain to me why it take 4 months to put a sticker with my name and address on a magazine and send it the hell out lol I don't get it :frown:

look, dammit.

They gotta read AZB to gather the info, then pirate dome pictures, run a mockup, make corrections/ mock/ correct/ mock...get it off to the printer and then mail it to you, all under a dying business model.

Whaddya want for $24, dammit?!

They probably looked up trob and decided they don't like you. If it offers you any solace ... when those crooks at Inside Pool still had a magazine it took six months for the first issue and then you never got a second.

It's $48 Walter...$24 is the good buddy deal.

trob...I bought my subscription in December and got my first issue in January. No excuse for this. Call them up and tell them to send yours now, or give you another year's extension for free.

You probably caught them between issues. They mail the mags with a special postage rate that they can only use on a Bulk Mailing. It reduces the mailing cost almost in half. The cost of your subscription is probably just covering the processing and postage for your future issues (if the subscription cost is $24). They use the subscription count for the pricing of advertising. They couldn't mail a single magazine unless they mail it first class which is simply far too expensive.

They want 54 I believe on there web site lol and they haven't come for the expo in a few years with there $20 subscription special

I renewed my subscription several months ago ... think it was around Christmas time and they had a "special rate" of $24 at that time. I grabbed it.

For the record.

If everyone (and I do mean everyone) was as good at delivering the goods as they are at taking my money the world would be a better place.
You pay, they deliver. Sounds pretty reasonable to me.

I had the same issue when subscribing to my Knitting 101 magazine. I don't think they realise that my cats jumpers aren't going to knit themselves. It just isn't on, so I feel your pain.
