"He won $900 dollars, and I lost $300," his friend Andrew McLean remembered. "On the way home, he said, 'Andy. how'd you do?' I said, 'I lost $300.' At a stop light, he pulled $300 out and said, 'Thanks for coming with me.'"
The word on the grapevine is that "Jericho Cooper" may be heading for Tunica. If that's so, we'd ask our Tunica area viewers (including Memphis) to be on the lookout for him at taverns, poolrooms, and casinos.
This is just a tip. This is not known for sure. He evidently was known to be in Jackson on November 15th.
Doc
Clay, I assume that's where it originated, but I don't know. I heard the tip from Jerry P.Was this information passed on to the police about Tunica?
I used to see John Walsh of America's Most Wanted all the time on Wisconsin Avenue in D.C. at the Fox offices. In fact, I am driving over that way later today to do my grocery shopping for the week at Safeway, which is about two blocks from there. I may just have Keith run an envelope to the AMW offices with print-outs of this information, along with the picture.
Barb, if you read this in time, please e-mail me a wanted poster/picture at RailbirdJAM-at-AOL-dot-com.
Either way, I can print it out from the Sun Herald paper.
The only drawback I can predict ahead of time of them running the story is that this Jerico Cooper at the time of this writing is not considered the alleged perp; rather, he's a so-called "party of interest."
That said, it doesn't hurt to try. This is EXACTLY what this TV show is all about.
I am going to send an e-mail RIGHT NOW here: http://www.amw.com/contact/
Here is another place to e-mail them entitled "My Story": http://www.amw.com/mystory/
If every single person who has contributed to this thread takes the time to write America's Most Wanted in one of the above links, we might get more publicity about this senseless murder of a man loved by all.
Then I am going to follow it up by delivering hard-copy materials to the Fox offices on Wisconsin Avenue in D.C.
I will be hand-delivering this letter with enclosures later today to the Fox Television offices in my area.

Dear America's Most Wanted:
Attached please find print and online media articles in reference to the homicide of Mike Surber of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, whose body was found on November 12, 2009.
His death was ruled a homicide by the Ocean Springs Police Department on Sunday, November 15, 2009.
Lieutenant John Flowers of the Ocean Springs Police Department is in the process of an ongoing investigation. They are looking for a "person of interest" who goes by the name of "Jericho Cooper." They have a grainy video picture of Cooper which was captured by a video when he was leaving Skeeter's Billiards in Gulfport on Tuesday night, November 10, 2009.
Officers found Surber's body inside his home at 6:20 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2009, after Gulfport Councilman Ricky Dombrowski and other friends went to Surber's home in Ocean Springs to check on him. Surber's car had been in the parking lot for two days without moving, which is why Dombrowski and friends went to his home initially, only to see his lifeless body laying on the floor.
Please contact the Ocean Springs Police Department to learn more, but I am writing to you in hopes that you may broadcast the video picture of the "person of interest." Mike Surber was well loved by the national billiards community, as well as his family and friends. Please help us find the person who murdered this kind soul.
Sincerely,
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

We shall not forget Biloxi Mike and won't rest until his murderer is arrested.
I have contacted America's Most Wanted, and my next move will be to circulate some hard-copy media coverage to the Members of Congress and Senators from the State of Mississippi.
Now the casino community has been notified to be on the lookout for the so-called "person of interest," Jericho Cooper, right here in this link: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/2...onal-pool-player-murdered-please-help-640468/
I was wondering if the police have this PERSON OF INTEREST'S last known address or if the credit card that he attempted to use in Gulfport, MS matched up with a drivers license description.
If the police have a credit card number which they do, they should be able to obtain a last known address. If they have a last known address they should be able to go to the Motor Vehicle Department in that state and do a search for this person and obtain a better picture as well as an old address.
I don't understand a lot of things about this investigation and others have vouched for the officer in charge of this investigation, I can't see the harm in providing the above information.
I have the utmost respect for law enforcement officials. There are many things that go on behind the scenes that I'm sure we may not be aware of and should not be aware of.
That said, I was totally surprised that when I called the Ocean Springs Police Department this past Saturday, the number provided in all of the print media associated with this mudrer, I could only leave my e-mail address for LT John Flowers. They have no e-mail capability there.
The telephone operator of the police department said that LT Flowers was at home, that she could call him up, but I thought it better for me to just leave my e-mail address, not wanting to disturb him, so that I could send him a copy of the letter I am circulating to others, with his name mentioned in it as the POC for Ocean Springs Police Department. I thanked the lady on the phone for delivering my e-mail address.
I am wondering how many people may have called the Ocean Springs Police Department, like me, with maybe some important information about this murder.
Is it possible that some heat needs to be put on the heat? I'm no sure. It's the not knowing that is bothersome. It lets one's imagine run wild, wondering what is going on, who's doing anything, is the case cold, et cetera, et cetera, all the while this Jericho Cooper character roams the earth and Biloxi Mike had his life stolen from him.
