I don't intend to jinx the guy, but what are the odds of this guy going past the second round? Any PayPaler's out there want some action?
What is his name? And, is your bet that he won't win a match, winners or losers side? Just curious, I don't want the action. I hope he does well because an opportunity like this doesn't come around often. I know I had some people thinking the same way as you last year and although I did win 2 matches, I really should have won the match I lost on the losers side. I missed an easy 8 ball in the side pocket to get on the hill. I had the time of my life though and I'll never forget that as long as I live. For the player on his first visit to this tournament, it's overwhelming, to say the least, to walk into that convention center and realize that this is the U.S. Open, with all the history, the past champions, and the great players that have been there and never won, and now it's your turn to try to beat the odds. All of this with a trip made happen by the great people here in this forum. Most of which I still haven't met to this day. THEY made it happen, for a chance at a piece of history. Thanks again, to all of you. Peace, John.Roll-Off said:I don't intend to jinx the guy, but what are the odds of this guy going past the second round? Any PayPaler's out there want some action?![]()
Yup, it was Tony Mougey that knocked me out. Good player and I wasn't taking anything from him about the match, he played well. I just felt that I should have and could have won. He was a nice guy too, wish I could have stuck around and played him some at the pool room. Peace, John.Roll-Off said:I hope the guy does well, too. Tough odds, though. Hey RudeDog, if I remember correctly didn't you lose to Tony Mougey on the losers side? I play him all the time in weekly tournaments. Very good player.
I thought his name is Walter Blacker??Jimmy M. said:What is his real name so I know who to look for in the brackets?

sjm said:We sent him so to Chesapeake so that he could experience the thrill of playing in the US Open and for the chance to share it with him, not so we'd have someone to back in action.
I don't know him or anything about his game, but I hope that the US Open is a dream come true for him.

You pretty much suck, don't ya???Roll-Off said:I don't intend to jinx the guy, but what are the odds of this guy going past the second round? Any PayPaler's out there want some action?![]()
I'm sure roll/jerk-off could be world champion.....if he/she REALLY wanted to!Rude Dog said:What is his name? And, is your bet that he won't win a match, winners or losers side? I talked to BJ after the match, and he said the same thing to me about your kicking game, so he must have been very impressed with it. He also said he was a little lucky since you kept flubbing your outs. Oh well, we all know stuff happens. Varner whooped me 11-3, and we missed the same number of balls! Unfortunately, except for the first rack, which I should've won, all I did was kick for 7 racks and he ran out when I'd leave him wide open tables. He really played much better than I'd seen him play lately. All I can say is that I enjoyed playing him, he's a true gentleman, and it's good to have him back on the tournament trail.TheOne said:Yep I lost today against BJ, I actually played a fantastic safety game but couldn't run out. At 5-5 I had messed up 5 run outs after gaining ball in hand or a open shot after a hook. Oh well BJ was a nice guy and he said "I was one of the best kickers he had ever played" which was nice(I must have had a lucky day!), but then he had just won![]()
I prob should have beaten Lee Holt in the first round but he he plays well and even if I did I would have played Jeremy Jones.
So back to blighty and hopefully get myself a practice table to I can start paying my dues!
Walter Lost his second match on the hill, but seems to be having a good time and is obviously grateful to all the AZ members for giving him the chance to play.

Thanks for the good thoughts. It was the kindness of others that got Rude Dog and me there, so all the contributors get the credit for those good deeds.butterflycues said:At least they got there. That's more than the rest of us can say. Butterflycues
