I keep hearing about this ferruleless shafts that Tony at Black Boar is making. Anyone own one and care to post a picture or two of it. I'm curious as to what it looks like.

Looks like deep was right on.

Who woulda thunk a ferruleless shaft would look like a shaft with no ferrule! LOL.

Ca$h cues is making a ferrule-less shaft that plays very well - numerous reviews posted about them already.

It seems to me that this is a natural progression. After all, modern technique is to put the lightest material on the end of the shaft. Maple is very light compared to say Ivory. OB knows this, so they made their ferrule out of maple wafers. They put a carbon fiber pad under the tip to protect the wood & that's that. I suspect you will see the BB-style become common in years to come.

funny thing is.. this is NOT a new concept. Brunswick made ferruless shafts for years and years back in the day. If I remember correctly most if not all of the cues in their various catalogs could be orderd sans ferrule.

They play fantastic, but just get so dirty. I chalk properly and still cant keep the sucker clean.
