Black Boar on ebay

After looking at several Black Boar cues and the Blue Book, the logo on that cue looks WAY too big to be authentic. As I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, I could easily be wrong. But I won't be bidding on it =)

I'm no expert, but I dont buy it. That logo is way too big in my opinion.

That was my impresion and the reason I asked. Very strange logo. Not only zero feedback but "private bidding"

not only is it large, the B B is off center with each other and doesn't have definitive edges. looks like a knock off in my opinion. a cheap one.

I sent an e-mail to Tony Sr. about the Ebay auction. Perhaps he can get the guy booted. Or, at the very least, the auction stopped.

Big logo

I saw many of the old Black Boar and new one, this logo is too big maybe something new, I AM NO EXPERT ON BLACK BOAR.. Here is picture from ebay.

Be very careful

Outside of the USA,
Zero feedback,
Requires payment in 2 days
Funky Logo,
There are waaaay too many thing wrong with this deal..

He stopped using the boar's head in the logo in 1983 or 1984. It's definitely not a "new" logo, just a very bad attempt to forge the old logo. If you look closely at the true boar's head logo you'll see that the B's not only line up, but the top and bottom of the left sides extend past the vertical line in the B. On this guy's cue, only the top extends out. The entire logo is far too big, and not even close to the actual true boar's head logo.

How long?

I just reported the cue as a fraud to Ebay. I doubt that they will do anything, but it's worth a shot. As the guy has it as a private sale, there's no way to even contact the poor person who bid $500 on it already.. even after the auction.

Thanks Chris, I hope that works. I really hate to see these scams anywhere and hope someone can stop this one.

You're very welcome, Lynn. As I was scammed on Ebay (not in this way at least), I hate to see anyone get away with this. I also noticed that the guy is from Australia, yet is posting to the US. With his brand new membership, zero sales, and the horrible logo, I'd say it would be a safe bet that he's not out to do good deeds.

Did you also notice he said he has a whole warehouse full of rare cues. Best to nip this in the bud if at all possible.

Yes, I saw that. When I did, I immediately looked to see if he was selling anything else. Thankfully he's not. Ebay has been informed, Tony has been informed.. I can't think of anyone else to inform =) I just hope the auction is killed off.

Chris.

WTF? If you're going to be a scam artist...at least be a good one...this is a fake from the word go...stay away...way away from this cue.
