Blast from the Past, 1994 revisited...

would you mind if I posted some of the same from '92 on this thread or should I start anew? They are pics of the group I selected my JW from. Might be some of the same that didn't sell.

Sure, whatever you have - feel free. I figure that some of us will own some of these too. This is all just for cheap thrills.

I was told the last time that Tibbitts changed hands it brought $18,000 and I know I paid a lot more for the Szamboti I bought than the one on there just like mine. So prices on rare cues have tripled and some on there have come down slightly.

along these lines:

does anyone have any pix of the ginacue that was made for dean martin? i think it was for sale (around 1990-1993)by john wright although it may have been joel herck/heathware. it was a beautiful cue.

those old mailers are a great resource and provide a great history on cues. if anyone has any to share i would really appreciate a copy.

according to the bb3 a six point gus in 98% condition starts at 85k or five and a half times the price listed here. and mark kullungian wants a lot more than that for his well used gus six.

I've got ALL JW's pics from 90 until he stopped mailing. Pm me if interested. SW301-93

What a find - great pictures.
I would love to have seen some of the cues in person especially the Martinez cue and the 6-point Gus cue.
Thanks!

Wow.. Nice set of cues there.. And I do own cue #7 in my Omega/dpk collection...

Now that's what I was waiting for. What would you say the current value is?

Chris,
I think it would be over 6k now.. The one I have has 4 shafts and was the first one made in that design and it was Mike Bender's personal playing cue. Mike calls it the Incardona cue because Billy Incardona used that similar designed cue when he was a player rep for Omega...

Interesting how some prices have shot up meteorically (i.e. Tibbitts, SW, Kers, and Gus) and some have stayed relatively the same (i.e. Scruggs, Jensen, BB, JW).

That being said, I do not have this particular one of John's mailings, and that #24 JW has got to be the most elegant looking cue of Bill's that I have ever seen.

One of the nicer looking inlaid Omega/DPKs. The sharkwood one is very nice too. I've noticed the block rings on the Omegas to be the most common probably because they are the easiest to make. I've seen the "piano key" rings, the silver trim rings, ivory trim and block ring combo, and checkered pattern as well. Are there any other patterns of ringwork on Omegas?

Jeff,
But you have said so many times the prices aren't accurate.. :)

Can't have it both ways...
