blue diamond chalk

I use Blue Diamond and have been using it for a few years now. I always take a cube with me to the bowling alley to play on the barboxes. A couple nights ago, a kid on the table next to me just grabs it without even acknowledging me. He just starts grinding the thing vigilantly on his tip for like 5 seconds. Awww, hell naw! I grab for a cored piece of Master's chalk from another table hand it to him and tell him that's my chalk and that I brought it with me. I don't care if he was a kid. I'm ruthless when it comes to my Blue Diamond chalk ya'll!

It's So Easy.......Just Learn To Brush Apply Chalk To The Tip.

I've been posting on AZ for a couple of years about the atrocious chalking approach of way too many pool players.

The chalk is not supposed to have a hole in it.......a slight indentation is perfectly fine and it all wears pretty evenly
with a brush application of the chalk instead of what amounts to as just a drilling action. Thank goodness that
ivory ferrules resist chalk discoloring, aside from also playing great and sounding really marvelous as well.

I thought some people could find this useful.

Great information, from someone who is held in high regards in the pool community.

Also I'm glad to see someone like ChicagoRJ stand behind his product and answer any questions and criticism. Even offering free chalk to show people the options out there. I have not tried the chalk out yet, but am very impressed with the customer service you offer.

LOL. Right, folks go through 45 cubes of BD every year, that's 4 cubes a month ???? Give me a break. If someone shot 24 hours a day they could not burn through 4 cubes.

Did I say 45?

Golly.....I done it again...yikes.....I totally meant to say 57.

One Kamui 1.21 lasts about as long as 57 cubes of Blue Diamond.
57 cubes at 6....something every two cubes is about 180 bucks.

I don't know if it's a year or not, don't think I said that but tell me....
which one would you rather: 30 bucks for one awesome much better than BD
or 180 bucks for 57 cubes of albeit very good premium but not awesome chalk?

Of this I ask thee...

I know the question might not have been posed to me, but 57 cubes of BD would last me years. I've been on the same cube for about a month and a half and it still has lots of life in it. Granted I might chalk once out of every 3 shots, but I average 10-15 hours of shooting weekly.

For me, Kamui chalk is completely out of the question. I shoot publicly and have left cubes of chalk behind before. Losing Kamui chalk would be hard to swallow. It pains me enough for the times I've left a cube of BD behind.

Outsville just upped the game again to pass Kamui and we are winning on reviews... We have old packaging/ new formula Great White in Blue Mako that we are willing to send out.... We helped formulate OB to compete with Predator and the other non-cosmetic grade premiums so we know chalk where others just import without a clue or even knowing where they are importing from. yeah I laughed too when they said that... First 40 PMs with Address and "Great White request" in the title we will ship to....

Incorrect as proven by Corey Deuel at the 2016 Hopkins Expo.... Can't trust the human stroke when limited by the subconscious... Fundamental lie....

You are either trolling, or you are out of your mind...

A friend of mine has Kamui chalk and he chalks every 3-4 shots, because he has miscued far too many times trying to run a rack without chalking. Chalking every 3-4 shots for about 2-3 hours a day, 4-5 times a week he has gone through 1 and a half cube in about 8-9 months.
There is absolutely no way that I have gone through 70 cubes in that time. I have gone through 1 and a half cube of Predator (I threw them out after that because my hands turned blue) and 3-4 cubes of Masters. As I used the pool room's masters i can't be sure about the exact number of cubes I went through, but I refuse to say that it was more than 5 cubes.

Not true, not even close. Utilizing something continually doesn't make crap not crap. It just means you're using crap consistently.

Ive tried almost all chalks out there. I have even tried the Outsville Great White chalk... which is pretty creamy and sticks to everything forever. Super good. But I am gonna stick to Master or Triangle or Silver Cup.... I have a rhythm to my playing style and chalking is part of it. I swear I can run a rack and a half with great white and never miss-cue, and it just works my nerves. I thought I would give all chalks a try and I just need something that fits my playing style and grips fairly well.

actually, I'd take one cube of MC since it was rated higher than K chalk, but hey, I'm kinda weird that way ;)

To be fair, so does Karen Corr. She uses MC and chalks after every shot because of her ingrained PSR, and that's just fine. It does not build up like K chalk would. Most of my friends that use MC chalk up everytime too. Only a few rebels and me choose to chalk only once before the game....Just nice, cause I leave my chalk by the cue holders on our table, and it never disappears ;)

I'm in-between.... using my MC, I chalk before every game, and then occasionally throughout the game, more as a pacifier sort of thing, when I'm studying a more difficult shot or such. I know I don't need it, but it slows me down before taking the shot somewhat.

Been using the same cube for months now, tho I did finally cut down the outer edge a smidge. :p

I was a pre-flag user until I tried Magic Chalk. I chalk before every shot without fail & am a "swiper".

Months after switching I'm still on original 2 cube box. Amazingly clean, grips very well, I love this stuff.

K lasts about a year, the same as every other prem chalk out there. NO more, no less. Some folks need to justify that $30, you don't have to it, it's your money, buy what you like. A good friend of mine uses it too, but he would never say it lasts long, he buys a new cube every year, like clock work. He's NOT allowed to use it on my table though, the messiest chalk in the business, by far. And still rated lower than MC.

I play 3C billiards for about 15-25 hours a week for the last 2 years after re-connecting with the game and I always use my own chalk. So I have to wonder if some of you guys are eating your chalk. Because for the first 15 months or so I used a single piece of predator chalk. And I still have that piece and it is about 1/3 the original size. And for the last 9 months of so I have used a single piece of Magic Chalk (much cleaner than the predator but I never noticed any performance difference on shots) and more than 2/3rds of it is left.

I chalk after every shot, and then sometimes again while studying the upcoming shot. But gently, just stroking the tip with the chalk. I cannot imagine how guys go through multiple cubes of chalk in a year unless they are just losing them.

I'm 60, and in addition to the cube of MC I am currently using I have 2 new cubes. I think I will be applying for Medicare long before I have to buy more chalk.

If you don't want other people to use (abuse) it, don't leave it on the rail. Take it with you to the table, take it back with you to your seat.

His is just a (very very) weak troll effort.

Well here's a piece of Magic Chalk after 2 months use at about 20 hours a week. Little less than 1/2 gone.

Wish I had brought my cues with me to work today- I've got a block that looks 100% the same and it's been used about the same amount.

I've tried it all. Magic Chalk is still the best, and RJ is a stand up guy. Can't imagine giving my money anywhere else.
