Hmmm. Will Derby City be diluted? I don't think so.
In the last ten DCC Master of the Table Competitions, in which the winner is deemed the best all around player in the world, the first and second place finsihers were as follows:
2012 Shane Van Boening, John Morra
2011 Shane Van Boening, Alex Pagulayan
2010 Efren Reyes, John Brumback
2009 John Brumback, John "Hennessee" Pinegar
2008 Francisco Bustamante, Gabe Owen
2007 Efren Reyes, Rudolfo Luat
2006 Jason Miller, Efren Reyes
2005 Efren Reyes, Dave Matlock
2004 Efren Reyes, Ralf Souquet
2003 Larry Nevel, Jose Parica
In short, not a single winner of the last ten Derby City All-Around "Master of the Table" events will be playing bonus ball and only two of the silver medalists (Morra and Souquet) will play bonus ball. Of course, Ralf Souquet and John Morra are both signed up for the Diamond Ten Ball Event, so both of them will be at Derby City.
What's to worry about? Derby City, the proving ground of the all around player, will not lose any of its gold or silver medalists of the last ten years because of bonus ball.
My guess is that we'll have the best Derby City ever! Be there or be square. This will be good for pool, bonus ball included.
