Bonus Ball Playoffs February 5-15, and Schedule

i'm watching Lee Brett - and i'm confused. cause it says it's the match from NOV, but i don't see Michaela.... i'm waiting on Lee to text me back when he wakes up.

Ive got this idea,,

It'll work.. trust me..

What we do is get 10 people to buy air,

$1 each, that's all!

But every $1 they make, you get 10c... So if you can get 10 people and each of those ten people can also get ten people...

Wow!

Imagine!

This could be the future of pool!

That's probably the date in November when viewing of the match became available - that's what those dates mean on that page. December 20th was the last match before the break (Houston/Atlanta). The matches shot in November with Michaela begin with the date Dec. 22 (Miami/Las Vegas).

damn don't have time to watch it, too busy trying to keep up with all the players playing bonus ball in my local pool hall.

i think i'm sorry i asked....cause i didn't realize this was going to involve math.
but thank you?

let's try it this way - WHO WON?

Why do people from Bonus Ball even come on AZB...after all it's not there target audience? I don't think 90% of them have a paying job wit BB, I think most are just Larry huggers. Sick of hearing about it. Johnnyt

I think they all went back home to Canada.

Where they should have stayed. A twelve year old with average math skills could have done better than the bunch of them. Johnnyt
Interesting. The WPBL playoffs are paying $120,000 in prizes, the best 36 players around are competing, and contrary to what you all seem to think everyone has been paid.

There was a terrific Bonus Ball exhibition and tournament last weekend in Phoenix. Everyone who entered the tournament was playing BB for the first time, and they all had a blast and loved the game. I was amazed at the great response ( 38 entry's in the tourney and 50+ spectators ). Check out the WPBL Facebook page for the photos.

You really should not knock something without having tried it. The promoters and their investors are trying very hard to make this work. Any first time venture runs into obstacles. If there was an instruction book maybe things would be smooth, but there isn't. Any business has to fight hard and long to become a success, and the WPBL have had there share of setbacks, but they keep on trying.

I had an interesting thing happen this week. Two of the best players here in Las Vegas asked me to teach them Bonus Ball. When I asked why, they said that they were a bit tired of the same old games, and wanted to try something new. After a couple of hours of playing, they had the game down, and were really enjoying it. When I asked what they thought, they said they liked the game because it made them think, and combined aspects of several games. What more can you say - to me that plus the Phoenix weekend shows that Bonus Ball has a lot of promise.

Oh, and by the way, I live here in Las Vegas, am a lifetime pool player, and work for BB. We have players from England, Germany, Finland, Mexico, Peru, the Philippines, Canada, as well as from the U.S. An international field. They too work for BB.

Re target audience - pool is a hard game ( any pool game ) and is appreciated by other pool players. One mistaken statement and everyone has thrown tomatoes ( and a LOT more ) at BB. Of course, AZ, and anyone who appreciates the game of pool are the target demographic.

It is a shame to see everyone so negative towards an attempt to move the game of pool forward. Keep in mind, Bonus Ball is played with pool balls, on a pool table, with cues, and chalk. Just a new and different game - and a very challenging one at that.

I for one am looking forward to the playoffs. With a single elimination tournament, and some big bucks at stake, the intensity and quality of play will be very high.

I hope that you all check it out and see how this plays out before having a public lynching.

....and contrary to what you all seem to think everyone has been paid....

define "everyone".
- PPV customers?

put yourself in all of our shoes:

- $2M supposed budget to employ the pros & put pool back on the map.
- one year of hype & delays.
- you drop $20-$200 for PPV.
- you can't view the stream.
- the Rules are too complicated.
- you're told you're not the target audience - by the ONLY one who would at least give some semblance of response.
- you fly out to see it in person & discover it's cancelled.
- you know of, or personally, at least 1, if not all, of the players/employees involved & discover they haven't been paid & are basically stranded.
- your players ditched other events & missed $$$$.
- you call Kim Spies @ SEP and you are STILL on hold to date.
- you drop $200 on a set of Bonus Balls (as a joke gift), and then turn it into a Bonus Ball exhibition w/ Johnny Archer - at NO CHARGE.
- you can't get an answer from anyone for 2.5 mos on when the NOV playoffs will be aired. (and you're still on hold for Kim Spies)
- your players finally get paid backpay; no recompense - but they have to flyout & perform for said on their own dime.
- you finally receive your BB tshirt @ 5 mos later
- you're at Mosconi and not ONE person is discussing Bonus Ball, from Vegas to Germany.
- you are told that BB's got to complete the season filming, so that it can conceivably be sold & Asian players replace current
- you finally find a thread on AZB (cause BB website's been down for 5 months & you're still waiting for Kim Spies), that the finals are on for FEB 5-15. you want to attend but can't get confirmation on these dates, knowing that there are 3 players still holding out.
- your current vital questions (herein) are still unanswered, to go forward w/ Bonus Ball.

and you still don't have your REFUND from JUN PPV.

this isn't about the game of Bonus Ball; it's about Bonus Ball's game.

It is far more than "one mistaken statement", and you know that. If by some extremely unlikely chance you are new to the company and weren't here for it all, you will soon be educated on what else there was to it, tho not in this response, but surely in those to follow. (Pink lady has given you a good start.)

That phrase "not the target audience" is used as a summation of how we here at AZB were treated throughout the whole ordeal. Not that one statement itself. Bonus Ball dropped the ball in a big way in terms of public rations from the get go. That phrase is a quick way to describe it in a few words....

You can start by telling us who you are and what you do at Bonus Ball, if you want any credibility, trying to spin Bonus Ball here at this point.

Oh yeah, has AZB been paid yet?

mbprod -- Twice I have asked you how the prize money will be allocated for this upcoming tournament. Twice you have not answered.

Why?

We're not the target audience here, so take your smoke and mirror show to your target...where ever that may be. Johnnyt

PS: Johnnyt thinks your target is the investors.

Everyone WAS NOT paid what they signed up for though, let's make that VERY CLEAR. They were forced in a way because of being owed to come back and play for far less then the original contract.
