Bonus Ball, will you watch it or not!

It seems like all the buzz surrounding bonus ball has evaporated. If Bonus Ball never starts I doubt many who are not getting paid would give a dam. Its too bad because as I understand it the investors have a fair amount invested in the leagues prosperity.

Read this if u love pool - donkeys not so much ;)

I am absolutely going to give Bonus Ball MORE than the benefit of the doubt - watch and pay my difficult $'s for it.

Last time this much $ was INVESTED was ... IPT - right? It was double edged....

I LOVE playing pool. I LOVE golf as well, my second love after baseball and women. Bear with me for one sec.

I've been extremely fortunate to have played with many Golf Major winners - Arnold, Wadkins, Floyd, Trevino, Charles, Sigel ++... in pro ams where I could actually "compete" with them on & vs our team. I was a plus 3 handicap not long ago. It brought out some of the best golf I ever played, inculding a legit 31 on the back side of Piper Glenn in Charolotte. Sorry, had to brag. :p

My bloviated-ish point. For me, as a sports passionate person --> WE can ALL be in the middle of the best of everything pool has to offer. The tables, the game. the fun, the challenge, the PEOPLE we meet, AND to be up close to the very personable best in the worldl.

I want the best for Bonus Ball and for pool. I'll support it for many reasons.

And I will always LOVE pool.

that 31 on the back 9 at Piper Glenn, was it using winter rules? lol

It was spring. Stayed comp at The Palms. No winter rules, that had more ropes and officals than a Chinese 8 Ball Tourney. All I had was an eraser u SOB. ;)

Green to you. LOL

Oops. Double edited post. Stupid small revenue NFL Packs vs Vikes be distractin me. And the dog needed walked, and the sun got in my eyes. at 11 pm...

Don't Think So.

I went to the WBPL web site for an introduction to this, watched some of the video of the first match That was all I could take. Sorry folks IMO,this one, the way it is now, is a looser.

We all know it is coming on real soon, i tried watching Bonus Ball all ready but i couldnt watch no more the 10mins of it (maybe once i understand whats going on things will changed) I will try and watch Bonus Ball again, hopefully this time it will catch my interest, i would like to see how many members here at AZ BILLIARDS will watch it or not watch it, i think most people here will atleased give it a try, if theirs minds are not already made up that they just dont like it and never will, like i said for me i didnt like what i saw so far, but i will diffently give it another try (unless i have to pay to much money).
No, boring, boring, boring.

Boring? I don't think so. Bonus Ball puts all kinds of offensive pressure on the players including the shot clock. The traditionalist can go @##% themselves because it is an opportunity to bring pool to the level of other sports. Hell of of lot more exciting than watching soccer! Give it a chance. The biggest problem I have at the moment is the entry point for watching it. $9.99 is a lot considering the times. That's $40 a month and with so many entertainment opportunities out there, it suppresses the masses from watching and promoting it.

I tried watching it. It looks cheesy. The city based team league is a good idea I think. The production is pretty good for casual viewers. The rest..

Jerseys? It looks sloppy. Golf shirts or collared shirts and trousers give the game a more dignified look., hell go all the way to vests like the snooker bloaks!

Why do you need player numbers at the back of your shirt? lol I understand in other team spectator sports it helps in identifying the players. But in pool there's only one player at the table at a time..

Time based frames? I don'think that's the essence of pool.

This looks like snooker on a smaller table and bigger pockets.

Lol the rules can get confusing for casual viewers to be interesting enough.

In your mind bonus ball is a revolution in the making, and we advocates of 9 ball, 10 ball, straight pool...are being reactionary.

Good luck with your pipe dream.

And btw, even if the concept/execution of Bonus Ball were not retarded, it will never rise to the popularity you think it would. Unfortunately, this is a game where people need to play to watch, or at least watch with any amount of understanding. And no one is playing pool. That's the problem, and a gimmicky invented game isn't going to solve it.

You make some good points.

The bottom line is that I don't identify with bonus ball. And I dont have the inclination tolearn the game either. Looks like many feel as I do too. I do wish bonus ball luck though. They are going to need it.
