Bonus Ball, will you watch it or not!

I will not. At least initially. It really doesn't appeal to me. Perhaps if it becomes successful, I might eventually want to see what its all about. Right now, I simply don't have the time or interest to get into something that might not fly.

I don't have a lot of dispensable income to use to pay to watch pool. Therefore, if I am going to spend any money watching pool, it will likely be on TAR.

That having been said, I hope its successful, as I want anything pool-related to be successful. This just doesn't interest me much right now.

I'll buy the 1st one just to see what its all about. After all its still putting balls in the pockets. If its too easy it can always be tweeked to make it harder, just like other pool games have. I'd like to see it take off for the players sake. But if it does go over big I can see big problems with filling fields with the top players in the bigger open events. Most of us know and like certain promotors and would like to see them do well, but pool in the end is a business and new guys on the block are going to come. Johnnyt

I watched the usa vs canada match and to me it looks like its made for tv and I can't picture it becoming part of any major tournament. I hope it does well but I would not watch or be a fan of it....we have plenty of traditional games with long history's and they are much harder to master than three ball run outs! The promoters of bonus ball are looking for tv deals and sponsar's and maybe this will work for them. It also helps put money in the pockets of pro's and there's never nothing wrong with that.

I would think that the first couple would be free but i will likely watch the kick off in any event. Its probably less than 50/50 ill watch all of it-we shall see.

Back when the season was scheduled to start on November 29, the first week of matches was going to be free and charges would start with the 2nd week of matches.

Is it no longer true that the first week will be free?

I dont really know anything-just assumed they would need to start free.

If given the choice to view BB or the DCC the DCC wins hands down. BB has to prove it can be entertaining to earn my money.

huh, seriously? so if people have no interest in something it means they are haters? lol Whats wrong with pool? plenty of leagues, tourneys where i am from, i see nothing wrong with pool? Get mad at the higher ups who dump matches on espn or guys that stiff the pro's at tourneys, etc and not us everyday average guys.

What part of .... People that have never even watched BB did you miss

Merry Christmas

We all know it is coming on real soon, i tried watching Bonus Ball all ready but i couldnt watch no more the 10mins of it (maybe once i understand whats going on things will changed) I will try and watch Bonus Ball again, hopefully this time it will catch my interest, i would like to see how many members here at AZ BILLIARDS will watch it or not watch it, i think most people here will atleased give it a try, if theirs minds are not already made up that they just dont like it and never will, like i said for me i didnt like what i saw so far, but i will diffently give it another try (unless i have to pay to much money).

My understanding is it's delayed until February now.

If I could bet on it, I'd watch it. That would be fun.

Plus, if they don't get this to the masses first, leagues, local tourneys, etc... I don't see much appeal. Most folks are not going to watch pool games that they don't play.

Guys on my team would NEVER watch a 1P match, but I'd be all over it, heck I like watching most pool on TV...

So, folks that do not play BB are NOT going to watch it on TV. I play baseball, and I watch it on TV, but that does NOT mean I'm gonna start watching Cricket matches... it's kinda like baseball, but of no interest to me personally cause I don't play it.... I don't watch many sports that I did not play myself, other than the Olympics !!

Heck, half the fun of watching a 9ball match is figuring out which way they are gonna run out, and trying to figure which way they are gonna play the safety......

I agree with most, if it does not become an everyday game people will not watch.

This is where marketing comes in. They offer a set of balls for sale already and I will bet Pool Room owners will get better pricing.

Now example, you have Tommy Kennedy on one side of Florida, Hunter Lombardo on the other side. Two prime canadates to run tournaments and start leagues plus give lessons.

Maybe by doing this the players on the big tournaments will get a chance to make some money for a change.

I support anything that is good for the game. Without a new Hustler or Color of Money movie this is Pools best shot. Better to support your favorite sport in any form then watch it die.

:-) Aren't you wicked.....

There is a room called the action room here where several people will be happy to take your bets.

Stay with the GAL though, noobs in disguise like to fire major air barrels.

To answer the original poster's question...yes I will be watching it. I think that the BB folks are putting forth a large and sincere effort here and the game itself is challenging.

As someone who is in the billiard industry I am all for anything that might get more people to play. Unless BB has tv lined up I don't see much chance of that happening. But as a former league player in Germany and in the USA I did enjoy the league competition very much. So I think once it gets rolling the team aspect should prove to be exciting.

I'm not a neutral person nor am I negative about something I know nothing about

right dude! your giving me the impression that you think i have not seen bonus ball on video yet. You may not be neutral or negative but your posting some ignorant stuff there dude.

There is so much pool talent, so many great players, in a
team format that should be interesting. I will be happy to
pay to watch this new game.
