Hi again ,ive not posted or read a single word on azb for 8 months because of to much negativity and I dont this place is productive for me for many reasons. After this post ill be gone for another 8 months.
That being said i think the bonusball crew has done a great job.
The players luv the team concept, the arena, etc.
Myself i think its great and about time somebody came along and used the same ideas that work in main stream sports.
The guys who run azb, mark griffin, justin of tar,the diamond guys, pat fleming, jay helfort, charlie williams [im sure im leaving many promotors out] have done tons for pool and the pros, and are all good people and have the pros best interest at heart, now larry chiborak has joined that group.
So good luck to all the fans, players and promotors ,live and let live .If everybody works together and gets along pool will be strong and survive or if not it will turn into drive in theaters ,everybody remembers those.
In closing this bonusball league is the greatest thing to come along for the players and im thrilled to be a part of it.
They have done so many things right, and made it where the expenses are so little for the players.
Everybody that knows me knows i like to play different games, bonusball has a little onepocket,14.1,9ball involved and a shot clock, which is long overdue. The games fun to play and extremely challenging. A 60 point run is awesome at this game.
Get out and try the game people you will like it if your open minded.
Thats my 2 cents peace out.

John, that's the primary problem. Bonus Ball doesn't want to work together. They have basically stomped on most all the other major events.

Will the events suffer? Some, but the ones that will suffer the most are the players.

Honestly if you had a choice of the BB concept or one with similar opportunity and it co-ordinated with other events so you could play in all, which would you choose?

Respectfully,

Ray

Great to see you post John, wish we could see it more often, but I've been around here long enough to understand lol.

I hope everyone gives BB a fair chance. I new little about it and honestly was not interested at all. I did log in the first night to give it a look. And although they had troubles with the stream, I was able to see quite a bit of the match. I was happily surprised. The video quality is excellent! The arena is top notch, and the game itself is much more entertaining than I expected it to be. I'm a straight pool fan through and through, but I will be watching the BB matches every chance I get.

John keep posting

We travel all around the country to get involved in calcuttas and meet players. I personally really enjoy when you, Chris B, Mike D and all of the other pros post on here and let us know what you guys think. Please keep it up and don't punish us for the trolls, idiots, bashers etc...

Thanks John.

John it's good to hear from the players. That's what this is about. I've had a lot of bad to say about the aspects of the game I don't like, but the game doesn't effect me. It could effect promoters which could take away tournament I go to, watch and enjoy. But who knows. I think it's great you're getting some money. Who knows if that will end or not. I know the big goal is to get legal betting going on, and I don't think that will happen, but if it does and the players keep their nose clean... Who knows. A lot of ifs. I have a lot of friends playing and I wish them all the best.

Jerseys are corny though. Admit it!

Come on John, don't leave for another 8 months.

And regarding Bonus Ball I bet the team spirit thing is nice for the players since pool has always been an individual sport, for the most part. So that's why I was thinking it probably feels good for the players to feel they are part of something as a team. It just feels good to have a purpose in what ever career you have.

Congrats and good luck. And try to keep your colleagues out of the casino..

:)

I agree. They look like cheap cheer leading uniforms.
With all the investment going into the events, I think they should invest a bit in designing something that's more pleasing on the eyes, given they're always in the view of the cameras.

Perhaps some nicely designed polo shirts.

I kind of like the idea of a huge pool "corporation" owning the major share of the professional portion.

NFL owns football, NBA/basketball, PGA/golf, etc.

It's been discussed on many occasions. I like the idea.

I don't think anyone will accomplish that while cutting off other opportunities for the very guys they are helping them make it possible, the players.

I think they are on the right path aside from that. The studio is amazing and the production first rate of course.

If they perk up some interest in the pool world with this thing hopefully they will start to get some TV coverage bigtime.

This will help build pool and create interest all over.

Plus with all these monsters all rounded up in one barn the players should be coming out of the woodwork to try and win these events around the country.

Of course we'd like to have the attention at these tournys by having these players but there will be new players stepping up to the plate.

There's allot of really good players around the country that I see in my travels.

I think it will help everything.

The more pool the better. And this is definitely more........

Good Luck to everyone. With tournaments everywhere.

See ya there...........

I watched it...very interesting. It took some time to get the rules down, and to remember the pocket patterns for the teams. Seemed a touch complicated, but I caught on quick enough. I think you could have just taken 8 ball or 10 ball and put the same packaging to it and been just as successful. That way, the average viewer (who is likely familiar with league play or at least casual play) could follow it quickly and better appreciate the skill levels on display. I would think that APA players watching world class players in a similar environment that they play in would be attractive...I still can't fathom why a new game was needed. I'd also like a more raucous crowd (like Mosconi Cup). That, plus the team concept would be a winner IMHO.

Still keeping an open mind...
