Boosting weekend business!!!

Im looking for ideas on how to improve or boost business on teh weekends at my local hall. The owner doesnt like karaoke or R&B/Rap so were looking for ideas. The rooms is pretty spacious but there wouldnt be a place for a dance floor or anything like that.

Thoughts plese :grin-square:
 
take all the tv's out except for one and try to hide it.clean the place up and blow a lot of money on the ladies restroom.change your thinking about getting men into the room and target getting the women to come in and make them feel at home.the place will fill up with men trying to tell you what you are doing wrong while showing off to the girls.

I had always thought that if I owned a room I would try a kids league. Maybe go from ages 8-16. I would try to do this on a sat or sun afternoon and offer this league as free and try to get sponsors for prizes at the end of the session. Once you get the kids involved then you could offer free table time for the kids in the league when they have an adult playing with them. This would do two things: It would involve the youth which is the future of our sport/hobby and would generate more table time from the adults playing with these kids. Just a thought.....

Difficult to cater to the ladies without a dance floor, but I agree that cleaning up the place and making the ladies room super nice is always a good idea.

If you're gonna go that route, then you will need to do lady-specific promotions, i.e. drink specials for the ladies, etc. Again, not a bad way to go. "Ladies nights" are usually held mid-week, to generate more business then, as bars usually do better on the weekends. If your place has a weekend "Ladies Night" that would quite likely be unique.

Just thinkin' out loud.

you don't need a dance floor,ladies drinks or a ladies night.this just puts the girls in a category.worst thing you can do.you want the ladies to feel good about being in your place every day.cater to the women and the men will follow.

have a wet t shirt contest with a bar tab.....and a stripper pole allways makes it fun....:wink:
 
Offer free lessons. Organize a junior tournament. Look to bring in people who are new to pool. Find freebies to give out.
 
Table time specials might work. I know of a pool hall that will charge you $20 to play as long as you want on certain days. It keeps people there longer and you will most likely make all the money back, plus some, on food and drinks.

Heck... I'd be there for $20/day :)
