I'm close

I live in Lowell mass, it's about 25-30 min from Boston. If you need a tip give me a call 978 455 4610, I'll do it while you wait.. Good luck and welcome.

Moving to Boston in a few weeks, wondering where I can play pool and also if there is any place where I can get cue tips replaced, thanks :)

You can go straight up 93N to Salem NH and go to Grand China Billiards. Half the place is a restaurant and the other 1/2 is a pool room w/ gold crowns. Good B/C level competition, good environment and decent equipment. Mike Webb in Providence RI or Joe Callalucca in Hudson NH are as good as it gets when it comes to cue repair.

Agree 100% on everything here. If you are looking for A and Open level tourneys, Snookers in Providence, RI on Wednesday night is awesome. For general play, I absolutely LOVE Grand China. The tables play great, and best of all it is just a really nice community of people. The owner Dharma is one of the best people I have ever met, and a good player as well. He sets the tone for that place, which is very friendly, yet really into pool. Its 30 seconds off the highway too, and the food is very good. They do thursday and Friday night tourney's. Friday is only $5, and there are plenty of B players and C players, 1 or 2 A's sometimes.

Hope it helps,

Really sad to read that there are no quality pool rooms in Boston. The future of pool halls is really on the line, guess that's why so many tables are going into private homes these days.

Total agreement with KMRUNOUT here! I've been there several times. Grand China is a great place, with a great group of people who play there. Dharma is indeed a really nice guy, and cares about his players and the equipment. Now...if they only didn't have to have that RED cloth! LOL...but heck everything is red in Chinese restaurants! Great food is an understatement, and you'll never leave that place still hungry! Glad to see they are part of Marc's new tour!

Kenny, more details about tournaments there, when do they start and how many players seem to show up? It's an hour drive for me but I may take Alex up there as he loves General Gao Chicken and pool

I am guessing it's normally not busy with players if they can do a Friday night tournament.
