Yes Tramp, but they have the suspects photo in a murder case, here in Baltimore when somebody robs a local store they post his photo and boom they have their robber with in a few days.
This jericho cooper must be a very smart wanted man, or is it just maybe he isnt that much wanted of a man, cause he only murdered one person !
Richie, I too feel your pain and wish they could find the person that murdered Mike Surber. But let me just add to the already many responses as to why this case may not already be solved. 1.) Jericho Cooper is just a name. It may be ficticious/made up. It might be a nickname. 2.) They just have a picture of a man who is a "person of interest". This man may NOT even be the perpetrator of the crime (more than likely IS, but that's not proof). 3.) Even if they had the pictured man in custody, what have they got on him as evidence (besides some "grainy" video that may not prove anything to a jury? 4.) Ever occur to you that this man may already be locked-up under his real name, dead, or living out-of-country? Obviously, this man is "in the wind" in a way that he is not showing up on anyone's radar.
Catching the "person of interest" and proving a case are also two different matters. I've seen/heard/read about persons that were known to be guilty of murder get off "scott-free" due to lack of evidence or poorly handled prosecution (an ex-Buffalo Bills running back comes to mind here, as does Casey Anthony). The DA's office in Mike Surber's district may simply not have enough evidence to prosecute the man even IF they found him. This too would put the case in the "cold case" category and they would cut manpower/hours on this case to little or none.
We, through our love of pool, have a special place in our hearts to want to see justice for Mike's murder. To the police working on this case, the fact that he was a poolplayer gives them no extra incentive whatsoever.
But keep in mind, there are many murders that go unsloved in this and many countries (I can think of two that happened within miles of where I lived some time ago). This is not a high-profile case and more than likely has been put on a back-burner.
It's going to take someone like you or me (or another AZB member) to finally see this guy when he slips up and shows himself, and we must do our part to report him to a local PD when he does. I'm hoping he screws up soon. He needs to be off the streets.
Stay passionate for justice though!!! That's a good thing.
