Bottoming tap

Does anyone know where I can get a bottoming tap in the radial pin/ball screw/surgical screw size (3/8 X 6?) ? I have a ground nose tap (from Atlas) but it leaves to much unthreaded material at the bottom of the tap hole.

Thanks,
Stoney

you can grind the end of it flat

I've cut down 5/16 ( sanded down to around .300 ) dowel to .250 thick and push that down( with epoxy ) the forearm after tapping the hole for the pin.
For the shaft, I leave it alone as I only use the long pilot radial now.

bought two

bought two and ground one down to make it a bottoming tap. run one and use the ground one second. its worth the extra 37 bucks

Duh!!!! Simple - why didn't I think of that:o? Thanks, Joey.

As BHQ also suggested this seems to be the long term solution. Joey's idea is great but there are some instances when I can not use the doweling method. Thanks.
