Pool (can be if you don't take it too seriously) a great release, and fun, relaxing, boxers can't drink alcohol before or during training or a fight, and you can't clown around or you may get hurt, pool you can have a drink, have a laugh, fool around alittle.
Remember, some people do only play pool for fun, and they love it like children.
P.s. I miss boxing so much, I started working out again and am thinking of having 1 more match, we'll see, it's been along time since I stepped into a ring.
I'm not one to tell people what to do. How long have you been out of the ring, and how old are you? I only lost one fight in NY before I hung them up. Four and a half years later at 22 yo I was in the Army up in Alaska. I was passing the gym on post one day when I saw a sign that said if you joined the boxing team you didn't have to go out in the boonies and play war-games for the next 30 days in sub-freezing temps.
I said to myself, who the hell would be up here in Alaska that was any good in the ring. Anyhow, I had 6 fights up there. I got knocked out or the fight was stopped on a TKO in 5 of them and the 6th fight I lasted the 3 rounds but was in bad shape for a week or more after. You know blood in the urine and such. This guy turned out to be the Texas AAU champ or some other state wide boxing association. He was 144-0. I did meet up with him in a bar in Fairbanks a month or so later and just about killed him with a bar stool. I had found out he didn't want to knock me out, he just wanted to hurt me real bad. I use to fight Banty, but the service put about 20 pounds on me. I was much too short for that weight and couldn't reach them in the ring anymore. Plus they hit a hell of a lot harder than a Bantemweight. Johnnyt
