Boyes pulling a very questionable move on Daulton

I dont know who it was that mentioned it to be greatest pool post he's read in a very long time referencing to the psychological aspect of Karl's move in oder to shift momentum.

I think, it goes without saying that Karl's move breaked the momentum and had an effect on Shannon's mind. I am convinced though, it was not Karl's primary intention to break Shannon's rhythm. Much more he just saw a cheap chance to get back to the table and snitch the rack and momentum. To make a psychological move on Shannon is more an accompanying factor, well appreciated by Karl.

I think it was John Brumback who said a wise thing: "Don't give your opponents a chance to call a foul on you!" Doing that, your will be on the safe side.

But Vette reiterated actually what I had posted a couple of posts back. It is no question if it was a foul or not. Of course, it was a foul and Shannon is in the wrong. But, most of us agree in here that it was wrong to enforce the rule in this instance.

btw, I am one of these robot boring Eurotrash players but def. feel ashamed to be represented by Karl at the US Open.

How is it wrong to enforce a rule? I think there should be refs at each table for these Pro events to enforce rules and rack for the players. I believe that if there are refs they would have to call these types of fouls and not make judgement calls as to what to enforce and what not to enforce. Then the players aren't the bad guys.

Or the ref could always move the stick out of the way for the player.

Are we going to ignore the fact that boyes has tig ol bitties

Also, his pink thong was sticking out when he bent over to rack the balls yesterday too.

The camera man was trying hard to help him out and keep it out of picture.

Was pretty funny.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. That's what makes America the greatest country in the world. You or I can express any opinion we want without fear of persecution. At least that's the way it used to be.

The fact that I'm always right about everything is beside the point.

This belongs on a shirt

I don't think the ref should be interfering with the games but if the player knew stuff like that was going to be called they wouldn't touch the balls.

Yeah, and I'd like to have a pony.... Imagine how much it wud cost to have a ref present at every match in this event, let alone all other pro-events. I am pretty sure that most players would gladly pass on having refs if their reimbursements would be thrown in the prize money pot.

Ur right though that if refs were around, then the players wont be the bad guys. Someone mentioned that in the Mosconi Cup Tabb or Reese moved Feijen's cue away to avoid that foul... funny, isn't it ;)

lol, ONCE AGAIN, nobody is blaming anyone. Karl is a douche bag for calling the foul even if it's technically a foul. Some of you have obviously never participated in sports. Why do you think batters get thrown at after they flip the bat or grandstand after a home run even though it's well within their rights to do so? Why do you think golfers give each other short putts in match play even though they don't have to?

It's called sportsmanship. There's no rule governing sportsmanship and it isn't something written in a book. An overwhelming, vast majority of pro pool players wouldn't have called this foul because it's a dick move and it is unsportsmanlike to do so.

In the U S Open do golfers give each other short puts?

In the world match play championship they do. The US Open in golf is stroke play, all putts must be holed. You're comparing apples to oranges in respect to each sports' US Open.

LOL - your example was golfers always allow each other to not follow the rules. Of course they follow the rules rigidly - it isn't a local tournament. It is an international event.

What rules should they allow people to violate at the U S Open?

Earl

FWIW....as I watch Earl play Ignacio, I don't think I've seen Earl let the cueball stop rolling once...hope he doesn't play Boyes.

Do you clowns just not read the entire thread or choose not to comprehend what's being said when it involves subject matter that you obviously aren't familiar with? My example in golf was the world match play championship, or any match play tournament for that matter. In those tourneys, as opposed to a stroke play tourney, your opponent can give you a putt, or any shot for that matter at any time in the match. The example given was when a putt has been lagged to a few inches the player usually assumes the putt will be given even when it hasn't verbally been given because it's customarily given when it's only a couple of inches. In the recent Solheim Cup, one of those putts was raked back and then the opponent called the penalty saying it hadn't been given. While it was within her right to call the penalty, she has since ruined her reputation in the world of golf and social media due to all of the backlash and fallout from being unsportsmanlike.

Try and follow the thread before you make any more retarded comments. Thanks

I'll try but it isn't easy.

Meanwhile, if I was Shannon, I'd follow the rules since it is the U S Open and not a local tournament at the D & G Bar in Skidmore.
