Brackets for WPBA Masters

It is really too bad they are not streaming... I think it brings a lot more interest and excitement to an event. I wonder why they are not? Not enough bandwith or none or is a WPBA decision.

It also looks like with even just 48 they still had to dig deep to fill the field... hmm. :embarrassed2:

Very cool.

Also cool that Sarah Rousey gets a bye.

Gonna be fun seeing how this all shakes out.

Thanks for the link.

Yes it is a shame we can't see the first 3 days of this.

I agree with you about more interest and excitement but maybe the casino thinks it will give people an option to stay home instead of coming to see it live and dropping a barrel of money off in the process.

I can't imagine any casino not having the internet capabilities to stream a show ! Can you ?

Thx for the link.

Too bad they changed the tournament format, and now many of the lower ranked regulars have thrown up their hands.

Did deep into the field? It looks like they might have had to leave the field entirely and go 7 states over to find a whole 'nother field. There are some names on there that I have never seen before. Ever.

Heres something I don't really get, those that won their first match or had a bye and then lost in the 2nd round...are in the exact same position as those the lost their first round match?

Ding, ding, ding...we have a winner! That is the problem with this format. You win your first, lose your second, and lose your third...and you end finishing behind someone who lost their first and won their second.

Ridiculous, right?

Heard about cutting the purse too.

Top 4 redraw into single elimination?
So much for true double elim.

WPBA couldn't help themselves and had to throw in some "musical chairs" ridiculousness to make it "exciting"

Please.

Can someone who is at this tournament report back to us on how many spectators (excluding the players) are watching this event live?

My guess is that there aren't that many spectators watching this tournament in person. Making money off of the spectators probably isn't the money maker that the casinos would like it to be.

This has to be done because these are the TV rounds so we have to have a set number of matches (not a possible double-dipping situation). Additionally, statistics show that for ratings, it is best to not have the same player in all 3 matches which can potentially happen with a true double elimination.
