You're an A$$. Thanks for reminding me there's another cue, I can never own.
That is an absolutly beautiful cue sir.

That is an absolutly beautiful cue sir.
Ron obviously not I think we all know who that bb belongs too lol and I'm not in the 25,000+ cue market either and that's the only reason why it's not mine
I must say it's a matter of opinion, the searing is def a knock out congrats to the new owner. But with all this chit chat I don't think anyone can give Tony at BB a run for his money. Just saying And as stated it's a matter of opinion
I would def love to own this searing it's a gem and def a great cue maker in my eyes
No one has a hard on, but just by looking it's hard to see 800 and as people who love quality work, cues, & cue makers we were wondering
Beautiful cue love it
FYI x5 is wrong![]()
Eveyone has said they loved the cue but did not see 400 inlays. The guy was right there was not 400,so thats it.To show what hundreds of inlays look like was not downing anything, just showing a cue that actually has 400+ inlays and the boar looked awesome!I don't think he tryed to embarass anybody,he was corecting the guy who put up the wrong info in the first place which really isn't a big deal either. The Searing is a work of art ,but guys have to stop being so sensitive when all were talking about is wood! This cue stuff should be fun for all.Personally i want both those cues but Ebay won't let me sell all my kids:thumbup:Have fun guysI believe he said there were 400 inlays on the Searing. If memory serves me correctly, the Black Boar has 872. These are two totally different styles. If one is more attractive to you, that is your choice. There was no need to "show" what hundreds of inlays looks like unless you are trying to embarass someone as proof. Not very cool, imho. :frown:
BTW - How do you know 5x is wrong? I am friends with Steve and was able to see this wonderful cue in my own hands. 5 x $25,000 is not wrong. You can read this thread as proof:

I am sorry Sean for people derailing your thread. Your new cue is magnificent no matter how many inlays there are.
Chris <~~~~~~ if I am wrong, I will admit it
If you are a traditionalist.. you're going to like Dennis' cue more, if you like what a computer can give you, the BB is the nuts, and right up there with Manzino's work. It's a whole different mindset.
Personally I like points, so I would gravitate to Dennis' style moreso than the other type of cues. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and that's that.

right on..... no one could have said it better my friend!rock on and keep posting beautiful works of art.i think someone got way too defensive
First thank you all for the really nice compliments!!
I'm honored that I got to build a cue that in return would help some one in my family in a serious time the way it did. Thank you Sean!
I'm not an inlay counter. I design a cue in a way that makes me feel it flows, so what ever inlays go into a cue to create that feel, or look in my mind is what I do. It doesn't matter if it's 700 inlays, or 8. Sometimes I feel it's what you don't do that can make a cue special. If I was going to count inlays like on this cue, I would count for instance one of the gold bordered dashes as two inlays because there's two separate pieces. There's a pocket cut for the gold, and a pocket cut into the gold for the ivory. With that in mind, there's 243 inlays in the cue. I'm also including the "searing" logo because each letter is an individual part cut from gold plate, and a .0055" pocket cut for each one.
Regarding the use of .005" bits to do the inlay work, I'm afraid it was made to sound like I said no one else used, or does use a .005" bit. That's not what I meant, or said. I was asked if any one else used the .005" bits I used to do much of the inlay work in the cue, and my answer was that I didn't think so, at least not yet. The only reason I said I didn't think so is because the particular bits I'm using I had custom made for me to cut deeper than any other .005" bit I've seen available. I think there are a number of cue makers on here that know I will help another maker if I can, and have many many times. They also know that it's not my style to speak negative of fellow cue makers. Please except my apology if it sounded that way. Every one trying to make cues with care has my respect.
Thanks again for the compliments, it makes the effort we all put into a cue worth while!
Dennis
It doesn't matter to me how many inlays are in this cue. It's perfect in every way!

Now that Sean has this BEAUTY perhaps he will sell us the other 7 not as nice SEARINGS! CHEAP? Ron
Pretty sure it was sold a while ago, if he wants to say who he is I'm sure he will chime in
