Brand new dennis searing golden cue

Ron obviously not I think we all know who that bb belongs too lol and I'm not in the 25,000+ cue market either and that's the only reason why it's not mine

I must say it's a matter of opinion, the searing is def a knock out congrats to the new owner. But with all this chit chat I don't think anyone can give Tony at BB a run for his money. Just saying And as stated it's a matter of opinion

I would def love to own this searing it's a gem and def a great cue maker in my eyes

You are definitely entitled to your opinion. I just don't understand why everyone has a hard on for how many inlays are in this cue. Sean and Dennis admitted they were incorrect in the number. Who really cares?

BTW - You estimation of this BB is WAAAAAYYYYYY off. Multiply that number by 5!

Just sayin'
Chris

????

No one has a hard on, but just by looking it's hard to see 800 and as people who love quality work, cues, & cue makers we were wondering

Beautiful cue love it

FYI x5 is wrong :)

I believe he said there were 400 inlays on the Searing. If memory serves me correctly, the Black Boar has 872. These are two totally different styles. If one is more attractive to you, that is your choice. There was no need to "show" what hundreds of inlays looks like unless you are trying to embarass someone as proof. Not very cool, imho. :frown:

BTW - How do you know 5x is wrong? I am friends with Steve and was able to see this wonderful cue in my own hands. 5 x $25,000 is not wrong. You can read this thread as proof:

I am sorry Sean for people derailing your thread. Your new cue is magnificent no matter how many inlays there are.

Chris <~~~~~~ if I am wrong, I will admit it

Eveyone has said they loved the cue but did not see 400 inlays. The guy was right there was not 400,so thats it.To show what hundreds of inlays look like was not downing anything, just showing a cue that actually has 400+ inlays and the boar looked awesome!I don't think he tryed to embarass anybody,he was corecting the guy who put up the wrong info in the first place which really isn't a big deal either. The Searing is a work of art ,but guys have to stop being so sensitive when all were talking about is wood! This cue stuff should be fun for all.Personally i want both those cues but Ebay won't let me sell all my kids:thumbup:Have fun guys

If you are a traditionalist.. you're going to like Dennis' cue more, if you like what a computer can give you, the BB is the nuts, and right up there with Manzino's work. It's a whole different mindset.

Personally I like points, so I would gravitate to Dennis' style moreso than the other type of cues. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and that's that.

I'm with you JV I like Veneers not sayin the BB isn't PRETTY it is but for me I would rather have the Searing and a NICE CAR to haul it to CBC East and play Walker! It wouldn't look right getting out of my 2001 PT Cruiser with either of them!LOL And for inlays 400 showing 800 is overkill but who's counting inlays anyway? MAN THAT SEARING IS BEAUTIFUL,Congrats Sean, Ron

Hello everyone i apologize about the inlay count i was mistaken and am horrible at math lol anyways thanks for looking at this amazing cue and i thank dennis for letting everyone no that and for also making this cue for me i am honored and for everyone that is waiting for one trust me its worth the wait i promise u that wouldnt trade it for the world.

First thank you all for the really nice compliments!!
I'm honored that I got to build a cue that in return would help some one in my family in a serious time the way it did. Thank you Sean!
I'm not an inlay counter. I design a cue in a way that makes me feel it flows, so what ever inlays go into a cue to create that feel, or look in my mind is what I do. It doesn't matter if it's 700 inlays, or 8. Sometimes I feel it's what you don't do that can make a cue special. If I was going to count inlays like on this cue, I would count for instance one of the gold bordered dashes as two inlays because there's two separate pieces. There's a pocket cut for the gold, and a pocket cut into the gold for the ivory. With that in mind, there's 243 inlays in the cue. I'm also including the "searing" logo because each letter is an individual part cut from gold plate, and a .0055" pocket cut for each one.
Regarding the use of .005" bits to do the inlay work, I'm afraid it was made to sound like I said no one else used, or does use a .005" bit. That's not what I meant, or said. I was asked if any one else used the .005" bits I used to do much of the inlay work in the cue, and my answer was that I didn't think so, at least not yet. The only reason I said I didn't think so is because the particular bits I'm using I had custom made for me to cut deeper than any other .005" bit I've seen available. I think there are a number of cue makers on here that know I will help another maker if I can, and have many many times. They also know that it's not my style to speak negative of fellow cue makers. Please except my apology if it sounded that way. Every one trying to make cues with care has my respect.

Thanks again for the compliments, it makes the effort we all put into a cue worth while!

Dennis

It doesn't matter to me how many inlays are in this cue. It's perfect in every way!

James

......

Now that Sean has this BEAUTY perhaps he will sell us the other 7 not as nice SEARINGS! CHEAP? Ron

I agree post the other 7 ...hope you will sell them soon I'd love to have one

Ok ok I won't hold my breath for you to sell but can we atleast see the other works of art sir

just another look at one of my favorite searings......rest in peace sean

I believe it's with Sean's family still, they kept it after he passed. It will never be for sale. Amazing work from the greatest living cuemaker, nobody does it like Mr. Searing.

Pretty sure it was sold a while ago, if he wants to say who he is I'm sure he will chime in

Well of course i'm just going on what I heard. My info is fuzzier since I've moved to Texas and I'm not in that neck of the woods any longer.

...that is a cue to buy

That is one SEARING that if I was a millionaire I would buy in a heartbeat, Dennis spent countless hours, days, weeks and months working on that cue and I was lucky enough to discuss a lot of the process with him...a very special gem of a cue there...Good Luck and Congrats to the new owner!
