Break cue recommendations

Tell me what you'd recommend ^^...
Here are some for opinions:
-Predator BK2
-Predator BK3(And how different are BK2 and BK3)
-Lucasi Hybrid Big Beulah 2
-Mezz Break Cue, Mezz Power Break 2
Anything else you know that's great, please tell me.
PS: Break specialised only! No break-jumps.[/QUOTE

All of the Break cues you mentioned are awesome. The BK2 is my personal favorite but like anything it is about what feels good to you as far as feel go's.

I have never had a problem busting the rack wide open with the BK2 it is accurate because it is a low deflection shaft and I am able to park the cue in middle of the table around 85% of my breaks.

The Lucasi is also a good Break cue. My only knock on it is the tip because I prefer a leather tip.

I love the Mezz I just think its over priced. But I have no Knocks on the Power Break. Its well balanced and can burst a rack wide open and it is more forgiving than the Lucasi if your aim is slightly off.

The BK3 is not much different from the BK2 to me other than they added a carbon fiber reinforcement to the shaft allowing for a stiffer hit and I think the changed the balance point to give it a more forward balance which felt good to me when I tried it out.

All in all you can't go wrong with either one just try each one out and pick the one that feels the best to you..

Good Luck

I personally play with a McDermott NG01 Stinger J/B with a Samsara extra hard break tip...I like it, but you know something? I break WAY better with my player. Which got me to thinking. The very best break cue I ever had (for almost 15 years) was a Joss J11 with a rather flat, proprietary Joss tip it came with. A good production cue that you've logged in hours with will be much more accurate than something you swing only 20-30 times a session.

Take a former player, put a hard tip on it, manicured to a more flat bevel (like a quarter or bigger) to keep unintended spin off it and let slip the dogs of war...I'm thinking about doing it, too.

I owned a Mezz, and would highly recommend it, although I sold it.
It seemed rather pointless using it to break, playing One Pocket.

Hmm, I find the BK2 easier to control the cueball when breaking while the Mezz PB2 with a lot more power (as the name suggests haha). Both of the cues that I've tried were 19oz with their respective stock tips =)

I'm actually finding a Gino Ferrari pure break cue to see how it compares to them (a little off topic, but does anybody know where to get em?) Thanks!

Also heard quite good things about the Gino Ferrari like how they are really value for money =)

Someone here has a Gino Ferrari break/jump. I tried it for breaking, felt nice. Don't know where he got it though...

OB Break Cue

I tried an OB break cue for the first time on Sunday and God was I impressed, I can normally knock a ball or 2 in each break, the very first break I had with this I put down 7, out of about 20 breaks the least I threw down was 3, I'll be looking to practice with this one and probably use it all the time now!

I also have a Joss Thor Hammer, and I'd also recommend it. I've had it since May 2012, and my break has become much more consistent with a good spread and making balls on the break. It also won't affect your pocketbook as much as some of the others in your list.

I have the Joss Thor's hammer and highly recommend it.

+1 on Mike Gulyassy's Orange Crusher dedicated break cue. They aren't available anymore (Mike makes the Anvil series of break cues now), but Orange Crushers may be available on the 'bay and elsewhere.

I imagine Mike's Anvil series of break cues are just as good -- if not better than -- the Orange Crusher. I don't know, but I can say I'm very happy with the Orange Crusher.

I prefer a leather tip so I use an Action ring series. I've used the phenolic tips and don't care for them and can't break as well with them. I got mine for 70 I think. Added another 1.5 oz to it and it works well. For me...

Power Break Pro

The Mezz Power Break Pro is the nuts. I was breaking with a BK2 and it is a great break cue but it generates a ton of spin if you hit off center. This often times led to my cue ball shooting up to the foot rail rather than parking in the center after a hard break.

The Mezz PBP has offered slightly more power and less spin so my cue ball control has been more consistent. The down side would be the price but I was lucky and bought mine used for about 130 bucks from a friend who is sponsored by them.
