Break cue.

OR you can do this;

Just get a cheap decal cue and a lepro tip.
Place a lepro tip in between old magazine.
Hammer away till it becomes hot and really hard. :grin-square:
Install the tip onto the cue. Tip height should be around 4-5mm.

This work for a friend of mine.
I like it too, as I always use it to break when I am playing with him.
It has a very good cue ball control.

i might actually give this a try.

I bought a old $90 Earl strickland knockoff cue... maybe a cuetec made for sporting good stores.... anyways I had a phenolic tip put on as well as additional weight (18oz to 21oz) and it breaks like a sledgehammer. Considering what I put into it, I really dont have to worry to much about it getting damaged....as I would if I'd have bought a predator break cue...

the only thing with the phenolic tip I have noticed is that cueball control on the break is slightly diminished...

I have a Jacoby break cue that just crushes the ball. It has a nice big butt (I like big butts I cannot lie), and feels great.

I went the cheap route and have no complaints:

J&J but after I got it I put a Tiger Icebreaker on it.... its a leather/phenolic combo and works really well....you get the phenolic jump and a leather-tip like break :)

I have the panther jump break cue and it has been great. Virtually no flex in the shaft whatsoever, so if you like to bend the shaft on the table at the end of your stroke I wouldn't go for this one.

Great value for a j/b cue, you can't go wrong with it.

Predator Bk2s are awesome also.

I've got a Jerico Stinger and I love the way it breaks. I would recommend Jerico because of the performance of the cue, and the way Jerry Powers stands behind his product.

A couple weeks ago I was shooting in a Friday night tourney, I miscued over the top of the CB and broke the tenon, sending the tip and ferrule across the room. Saturday morning I found Jerry's website and email. I sent him an email detailing what had happened. He replied "Send it to me, I'll take care of it". I shipped it to him, he received it on Friday and shipped it back the folllowing Tuesday because Monday was a holiday. Is came back USPS priority and I received it last Friday good as new. Total turn around time 7 days! He took care of it free and paid the return shipping. You cannot beat that. You can buy a cheap cue and toss it when it breaks or spend a little extra and buy quality, and fantastic costomer service to boot. I go for quality.

Man you're dead right. I have a Stinger that Jerry replaced a cracked ferrule on free and shipped it back lightning fast. That shaft warped and he says "send it" and he'll fix it, whatever it takes. He knows how to build loyalty.

That being said, you CANNOT go wrong with a J&J...Tom

embarassed to say it but i have a players jump/break that is solid black with a black and white speck wrap that has a short phenolic tip that does the job pretty well and i spent less than a 100 on it brand new at ozone billiards.
