I had an original, Jerico Stinger. Mine had the phenolic tip. It was fantastic. I broke and jumped wonderfully. You were asking about a dedicated break cue and this is probably one of the only jump/breaks out there that is worth it, even if you only use it as a break cue.
That said, I recently had a chance to hit a Predator BK (not BK2) butt that was fitted with the OB break shaft. I liked it so much that I sold the Stinger and bought an OB break shaft for a cue that I had recently acquired. It is a good, strong butt and the break shaft is working out nicely. I just had it fit to the cue last night, and only have about an hour on the table with it, but after I dialed in the stroke a bit I was hitting it just as hard as I was with the Stinger and the cue ball was squatting on command.
Either way, you can't go wrong. One thing though, is that I do prefer the OB break shaft over the Jerico Stinger break shaft if only for the taper. The taper is thinner on the OB break shaft. I feel like I am getting the same cue power and the thinner taper is easier to slide through a closed bridge. The Samsara tip that came on the OB is great too, but you could have the tip changed on anything you get.
Thanks,
Mike
