i just wanted to give a shout out to charlie bond about the break rak. I think it is the greatest pool invention ever. I have been using it alot lately at the pool hall and have noticed a huge improvement. my opponents have noticed it too.

I am controlling the rock on the break much better and the speed is coming along nicely. with a square hit, the corner ball in going in a good %.

today I was playing on a tougher diamond bar table( not like the vegas tables, these are tougher) and I had my 1st true 7 pack, 7 break and runs.

I broke and ran out the last rack to win a race to 5 for 20 and then won the flip and ran out the set and thankfully won the flip again and broke and ran. I broke the next rack, had a tough shot on the one, thinned it in and went 4 1/2 rails across for the 2 and came up a touch short, made flyer on the two and scratched off a ball.

7 racks and I was very happy. the break rak is worth twice the money. thank you charlie, everybody should have one.

You can consider your action knocked.. but-good! I need the orange crush.

I've considered buying one o'those puppies. I gather you have a home table on which you practice with it. Do you have any problems with the cb flying off the table? What about the device... any problems with it coming loose or damaging the cloth or rails or ??????

Thanks, Jim

I usually detest pool gadgets, but this looks pretty good, only because it's essentially a time saving device

I'd like to bring one to the pool room, and set it up against another table with a full rack of nine, take turns breaking from the same spots and see if the cue ball takes the same path

i think 100 shots on each should serve as a good sample for some basic comparisons

if I'm not mistaken, this product is not the first of it's kind though

I have never seen another device like this in the 20 years i have been playing pool. ( it hurt to write that, I am old )

Also I will say while it is not exactly like a rack, I think it is 98% close. I think I get a little extra bounce pack but I might have it a touch tight.

I think for basically a price of a decent size set of pool, this is by far the best investment a b player or better can buy( I am a b player)

If you hit the rack good, it stays on. you would have to hit really really bad for it to jump off. I have never had it come loose either, once its set you are done. break to your hearts content.

the only bad thing I can say about it is it hard on the cloth, but hell if you hit 50 breaks in 15 minutes, you will get some wear and tear. To help with the head spot, I have some packing tape that I keep in the box with the rack and I put that on first. The problem solved. I do not think there is any extra wear and tear other than the usage.

lets face it after you get to a certain level, the break playing 9 ball(esp. on the bar box) is 75% of the game. everybody gets out. and if you spot your rock a few times and get out, all the shots get easier and presto you are a better player.

bar none this is the best pool product out there. I have said this before. oh yeah and charlie bond treats his customers right.

Didnt you just say you broke and ran out 7 racks????

I have a Break Rak and just love the time I get when I practice with it.

For those who do not own the device, please note that the Break Rak is used as an aid to develop the mechanics and commit to muscle memory the stroke used during the break. It is a tool used to work on break stroke mechanics without having to constantly rack up the balls after each break. The Break Rak will allow you to change things up as you practice and find all the elements that will be efficient for you during the break. The Break Rak will provide the target and the bands will bring the rack back to the same spot on the table. The Break Rak will provide some feed back as to point of aim, speed of the cue ball and the final rock position but true results shall be measured on the table with either tight racks or the racks with a loose ball or two.

As for the rubbing of the cloth, the foot spot that is placed on the table is not necessarily there to mark the spot (that is at most times the secondary reason) but it is primarily placed on the foot spot to protect the cloth during those power breaks. That head ball in the rack over time can create a hole with all the friction during the collision as a result of the break.

Hope that everyone has a chance to try this out and if you ever get a chance to meet Charlie Bond you will enjoy the time and the conversation. I met Charlie at VF in 2006.

ok that was tongue in cheek. I got 5th at the bca open in 06, and have won the state master 9ball twice for valley so I can play a little. I still tremble playing a top player.

It's a good training device for your break. I have one but haven't used it for over a year, it's probably time to dust the thing off.

lol I was confused just glancing at the pic. The video helped.

Basically have a rack set up on bungee cords, and when you pound the head ball the cords stretch for a second and then snap the rack back to its original position. So you just need to retrieve the CB to do your next break. The other balls might be for decoration or might be to help you visualize.

Hi Mike & thanks for your kind words. I designed the BreakRAK to practice with. My break became so powerful, other players noticed & wanted one. That is how the company started. I have sold a couple thousand BreakRAKs around the world & all of my customers are extremely satisfied.

The BreakRAK is intended to assist a player develop a great Break Stroke. Repetition develops rhythm & coordination, which has a by-product of speed & accuracy.

A couple dozen Pros, a dozen major Pool Schools in America & thousands of customers all write me about their success using a BreakRAK.

Good Luck to you Mike & all of my other friends too.

Thanks. So how do you know if you are breaking good? I'm kinda slow.

That's what I"ve wondered since I first this device a few years ago. I can see where it would be good practice to see if you can learn to plant the cb. I guess you'd have to hit a bunch of break shots and then do a few real breaks to see how you are progressing.
