Break Technique on ebay Any Good?

hey i bought that............basically you get an email that explains this guys break shot, with pictures and also links to a video where you can see the guy breaking. Id say its worth the money......i mean youd pay some guy in the poolhall 10 bucks for a good tip, thats the way i looked at it. It does make the cueball hard to control but you really can smack the rack......i just bought this thing about 3 weeks ago and ive had several people comment on how hard my break is lately.......ill hit a 9 ball rack and all the balls will end up at the head of the table. I also had played with the technique some and found a way to tone it down just a bit and control the cueball. I aint gonna knock the guys action and explain it, but to me it was worth the money, I dont use that break all the time but its another tool in the toolbox.

It wasn't her breaking it was a fella by the name Pat Johnson, its says towards the bottom.

They sure do make it seem like the lady is breaking. She's standing there holding the cue, says check out this rack attack, and then someone who you can't see breaks. That's pretty misleading IMO. Ok, is said its Pat Johnson in the ad, but its in smaller font, AKA fine print. LOL. :rolleyes:

I wonder what the technique is... from the video it just seems like they use a really long bridge length -- hand on the cushion, cue ball on the spot. All power, no control. If those were the best three breaks they could capture on film, where does the cue ball go on average, three tables over?

Its also silly that they use a lady holding a hat for their main photo, as if that's the best way to represent what their product is all about. Here, have a hat. :p How about an exploding rack, or maybe perhaps anything to do with pool?

I'm looking forward to reading Fred's review though. I'm not saying it can't be good, but they sure do a great job of making me skeptical. If it weren't for you guys who said it was worth checking it out, I wouldn't have taken it seriously at all. Sorry I really shouldn't knock it until I try it, I know, and they do have a money back guarantee, so I suppose you can't go wrong. Nonetheless ROFLMAO!
 
yeah the ad is misleading.......i thought it was the woman breaking too, then when you see the video its the guy. Bridge length is part of it, but theres a few other things to it too. Ive tried breaking with a long bridge before and I always messed it up, usually miscued. The other pointers the guy gives ya is what makes it work. Like i said, this isnt the cure to your breaking problems, if you unleash this break you really dont know where the cueball is going to go, but you will move the whole rack all over the table, its like throwing a hand grenade out there.

I am going to catch some flak for this, but i highly doubt she(or most woman) can break that hard.....I am just saying is all, fact is fact.

TJ...You should watch Tiffany Nelson or Sarah Rousey break. They break as hard as any man! Of course, as I told you...it's not about how HARD you can break the rack...it's about how hard you can break them, and control whitey!:D

With regard to breaking the balls hard, and parking the cue ball, I think Charlie Byrant is possibly one of the the best, if not the very best.

Wu from Taiwan is also really outstanding, but I have never seen Wu breaking hard from the break box with his hand on the table so I cannot really compare them. I have seen Charlie totally smashed the balls while stop the cue ball dead center with his hand on the table! Charlie can do it time after time with lots of consistency.

For women, I totally agree that Sarah, and Tiffany are amazing; besides, Jasmin, and Xiao Ting both have lots of power with control as well.

I have to also mention Pamela Treadway. This girl has a lot of knowledge about the game.

In the BCA, Pamela Treadway was breaking at my booth along with Josh Brothers, Pei Wei Chang was sitting there. After a few breaks, Pei Wei Chang asked Pamela how she could break so hard with so much control from either side of the table.

Pamela was very generous in sharing her knowledge with Chang. She gave Chang a few very useful pointers. Even since then, we have been making fun of Chang saying he learned his break from a girl.:)

But seriously, Pei Wei Chang later told me his break has improved a lot, especially when breaking from the right side of the table, after Vegas. If any of you have a chance to watch Pamela in the future, check out her break, she is right up there with all the best breakers.

Both Sarah Rousey and Tiffany Nelson have won the fast break contest in Valley Forge, I believe. And I ain't talkin abou the women's fast break contest.

Many AZers have seen Sarah crank it up. Her slow break is about 24 mph. Her fast break I believe has been clocked at 29mph. And yes, men were there clocking their own break at less than that.

I still need to video tape Sarah's break, as she is a whirling dervish. There are several pieces of her technique that I've witnessed and shared on these boards that can garner quick results.
