New WEI table pointed out to me by the folks at onepocket.org. Made by the same folks who made the original. Will take a little getting use to. Much more detailed. Backwards compatible. Try it out in the test area and have fun.:)

Yes, I saw Wei, whom I've known for years, at Corner Billiards in NYC on Sunday on he was telling me how excited he is about cue table.

I dont like it... too laggy and too hard to put lines in, plus you cant have curved ones....

not as good as other, simplicity is KEY.

Some great improvements, but the Digital Wei Divide is about to grow much wider.

One serious problem I forsee is that the screenshot is larger than the width provided on AZ forums. Doubt I'm gonna want to re-size every time I make an image.

Adds are a bit annoying....maybe could have placed them on the rails.

Table colors a bit bland.

But certainly provides increased flexibility for those who study how to use it.

Can you explain how you expect to get shape with a straight-in shot and low english with a cue elevation of 5 degrees? I have heard of follow through before, but I think this is pushing it a-bit.

Is there no more table codes? and how do you insert the image of the table into the actualy post itself?

Put a straight edge on your screen and you'll see it is about a 5 degree cut angle. That shot could be called a power stun back.

I also can't find a way to draw curved lines in that program. You really need the curved lines to show the speed and spin of the CB, and to catch out those who obviously don't understand how the CB moves around:rolleyes:

And exactly why do you want to snooker yourself behind the 6 ball? :D

Color Scheme

is terrible. The background and print color on the website is extremely hard to read. The color of the cloth on the table does not have the contrast needed for sharpness. They need to put a real systems person on this, and not some expert like a mathematician.

It's a work in progress, and I don't believe it was supposed to be unveiled yet. What we need is positive constructive criticism and feedback.

This is simply one man's great contribution to the internet, not some company or corporation. He could have just as easily not done anything in the first place.

I'm not sure backwards-compatibility is fully worked out yet. I tested a WEI table code-string for a one-pocket break I got out of another thread, and the arrows didn't show up right, and I think one of the balls was missing, too.

I really like the "random rack" features it has though (there's a triangle and diamond with question marks in them, and when you press them, it randomly scatters either 9 or 15 balls and the cue ball on the table). I've already discovered a new pool mental exercise! Press the button, figure out how you'd run the rack, pres the button again, repeat!

1: WAYYYYYY too slow, both loading and using. maybe it's just my 450MHz PII computer, but i doubt it.

2: ads IN the table? bah.

3: where'd the curvy lines go?

4: the interface is not intuitive enough for the 'average joe' to use it at all, let alone regularly.

It's just one folk not folks. Fred

Which folk is it? The Americans? Isn't folk more than one also?:p ;)
BTW, this is a direct drag and drop from his/their website. Notice the plural word usage.

Welcome : )

Hello form CueTable.com, we are a visual chalktalk tool for online communication, practice training and studies of strategy.

Just in case you haven't heard of us, here is a simple scenario showing how the table works:

Seriously though, at least this WEI fellow is doing something to improve pool on the net. Fred was right when he suggested positive, constructive advice. Keep it coming yall. This WEI fellow is trying to improve our internet experience and he's doing it on his own dime.

uhmmm....it's 8-ball...hehe

I was just creating a graphic so people could get a quick look at it and see a couple of features.

btw: As Andrew said, the random feature is a fantastic improvement. Would be good mental exercise to hit 30 screens of 15 balls and try to pick the best 8-ball out for each.

This will be great if he keeps adding things such as curves, makes a smaller print screen version to fit forum boards, allows video playing. And potentially record games from videos for online replay, discussion.

More Tips:
Let me add many more Cue Balls, so I can plot the out. Could be A,B,C,D,E etc, or just some plain cue balls as we could use the A cue ball to mark the Start position.

Advertising is driving me nutty while I'm trying to study the layout of a table. Getting noticed by frustrating the user is not good for branding. I'd be more than happy to see the sponsors around the rails between the diamond markers, not flashing about. If you need to rotate the sponsors, bring up new ones each time a new table is generated.

I'm all for sponsors contributing to make the service available. Just better that their presence does not reduce the quality of the service as it is now doing.

Wei plays out of Corner Billiards NYC. Excellent 1 pocket player as well as 9 ball. Really nice guy and loves to talk about the aspects of the game. I heard that he's going to be at Valley Forge this weekend. Not sure if he will have a table or not.

I really like the random racks. You can sit and go through racks and see if your patterns would work or not. I also like the execute button where it moves the ball to the end of the arrow. Another neat thing is that you only have to put the url in. No more copying and pasting just click on the URL.

I would like to see some tooltips on the buttons to explain what each item does and maybe some different color schemes for the table.
