Brian parks back to back and 3 times overall....WOW!!!

I guess parks either won it or beat the op that way. Not very clear, is it?!

Like I always say: I know what I mean, wtf's wrong with the rest of you people!!??

Brian Parks wins the US Amateur... Just to clear the OP's post.. 3 times total, Won this and last year as well.

A trophy and I think a us open entry. Not bad for a tournament that cost 65 for the qualifier, then 125 for the final tournament plus travel expenses :/

RFranklin...tap, tap, tap! It is a legitimate national title, with a load of very talented players, from all over the country. To win it at all is amazing...to win three times, and back to back, is nothing short of fantastic! I had the pleasure to commentate Brian's match with Ray Linares, and saw some great play. Congratulations to Brian Park!

If it's so easy, then go ahead! You probably could get odds! I'm sure there would be a VERY big window open on those who would bet against you being able to win at all, let alone..."for no other reason then to just smash the trophy right there on stream, and tell em what a B.S. tourney it is."

. If I did try and did happen to win that trophy it would be for no other reason then to just smash the trophy right there on stream, and tell em what a B.S. tourney it is.

US Am

Settle down Brent, we all know how you shoot. I am not sure I get why you qualify if you aren't going to play. For 2 nights at an average hotel in Palm Harbor? I don't know how Houston runs it but Austin doesn't pay travel so that would be on your dime anyway. Just win the damn thing and prove your point.

US Amateur

How about you don't smash it next year and hand it to me for $500 to add to your winnings. Hell, we can make it a bet. You don't win, you hand me $500? :D

I played Brian one pocket for 6 hours in his local pool hall even up $100 in one pockets.i lost 3 sets and won 1. This man is a beast!

Not taking nothing from Brian, he's a great player. Just don't know why he wants to keep winning a trophy. I never said he was not the best player there, he probably is.

It does not cost 65 to play and does not cost
125 dollars extra if you make finals they also give
You a nice free room and food at the finals . I played
Twice it is a great experience

This always happens every year. The tournament goes down and a select few on az bad mouth the event. The bottom line Brent is that the tournament is very very difficult to win. Jeff Abernathy,Brett Stottlymeyer, Ernesto Bayuau, Jon James Jr, Richko, Linares....all those guys and alot more like them got beat this weekend and Brian finished again on top. He's a helluva player and a super nice guy to boot. What he has done is a fantastic accomplishment and you badmouthing the tournament and saying you would smash a trophy that quite honestly I would say your way the underdog to win really sounds lame and so inappropriate for a thread like this.

Awesome! But is he still considered an amateur after winning (3) prestigious titles? What's the limit?

This is actually a legitimate question...no different then placing in the top X in a state tier here in Iowa. They automatically bump you to the next level (3 levels still I believe).
