Bridges.

Hey,

So what is the best bridge out there? What material is the best, protection wise, so that you won't F up your shaft like I've done in the past? Plastic? Rubber? Do you use a slip on or carry a dedicated telescoping one? Point me in the right direction please!

I bought the original powdercoated metal one and this one. They work great and are a cool gadget.

I like the Corona (leather) bridge head, but I like my Moosehead (plastic) one a little better because it has more heights to work with. Now I'm liking the look of this JustA Bridge for the same reason, but I have a question:

Apparently you adjust the height of the bridge by twisting the butt of the cue to which it's attached (I guess that opens and closes the bridge like a scissors). Does that mean you have to hold the butt tightly so the height of the bridge won't move on you, or does it hold firmly in place somehow without that?

Hmmm I like the black moosehead one too because it offers a lot of variety. What kind of plastic is it? Plastic can still put scratches in your shaft right? Ever had this problem before?

I may go for the leather one though. Worse comes to worse, It'll just burnish a small section of your shaft each time you use it!

Eventually the just-a-bridge loosens up. NOTE: you can retighten it with an allen key. I haven't had any issues at all with the bridge shifting/moving. Just need to make sure the shaft you use it on is large enough so the bridge doesn't tilt forwards/backwards during use. There used to be a video floating around with a demo of the justabridge in use. It was after viewing that video was when I purchased mine. GREAT INVESTMENT.
 
Yes PJ... it rises/lowers with a twist of the cue butt. I've not had the head get loose and it has never moved while set up or stroking. NO problems of any kind.
 
I agree that the moosehead gives you the most options for height, but the corona leather bridge is without a doubt the safest bridge to prevent any possible scratches.

Anyone at the SBE, who is interested in this bridge, can purchase it at the Stix Billiards booth, right across from the Stealth booth. I think they are about $20-$25. I've never had any problem with the bridge head moving, while using it to shoot a shot either.
