Bronco's Rod Smith Sporting the Hustlin' Brand

Well, most folks who aren't in Louisville sweating the pool action are glued to their TV sets, getting ready for the playoffs.

During the pre-game hype, a short video clip of the Bronco's Rod Smith was wearing a Hustlin' Brand baseball cap, right there on prime time. Pool is branching out, I tell you! First Tony Stewart at DCC, and now Rod Smith wearing pool's Hustlin' Brand clothing! :p

JAM, do you think Tony Stewart is a "Skins" fan?;) I agree though, it is nice to see that some "celebs" outside our sport are supporting it!

What is your prognostication for todays game JAM? Is the "Skins" defense good enough to stop Alexander?

Joe Gibbs, the Redskins coach, must have hooked up with Tony Stewart when he was into NASCAR. Seeing the Hustlin' Brand on TV was kind of neat!

If you look at the stats, Redskins gotta come out of the gate roaring and hope to knock the Seahawks off kilter. With Joe Gibbs' conservative running game, the offense looks good for the Skins. Gibbs has a stronger winning record as a coach than the Seahawks' coach. Redskins have won SIX games in a row, going for seven. Let's get ready to rumble! HAIL to the Redskins! FIGHT for old D.C.!

Rod Smith :D I think you`re right, it`s branching out. This is a good thing.

I had thought Hustlin' Brand clothing was a pool-related topic.

I sometimes see an AzBilliards banner advertising with Hustlin' Brand on this website.

Tony Stewart was at the Derby City Classic in Louisville. Tony Stewart has a connection with Joe Gibbs, the Redskins coacth.

The Bronco player ROD Smith was wearing a pool-related clothing item on prime-time TV today before a pro football game, a Hustlin' Brand baseball cap, the traditional black and white.

I'm kind of miffed at why this thread was moved. It doesn't really matter too much that it was moved, but the fact that it was moved is quite odd. JMHO, FWIW!

IMO, this thread is about clothes and football, unless I missed something.

I initiated the thread because a pro football player was wearing Hustlin' USA Clothing on prime-time television.

Hustlin' USA Clothing advertises on AzBilliards website.

It is nice to know that this brand of clothing which is pool-related is being worn by sports celebrities outside of pool.

Though the thread took a turn to footbal discussion, as do many threads, it was about a pool-related CLOTHING worn by a FOOTBALL player. The fact that it was Hustlin' USA Clothing must not be worthy of mention on this pool-related forum.

Pool related clothing? Isnt that stretching it just a little? I don't know... it looked like you were talking about the Redskins more than the clothes. I mean... one time I saw Tiffany-Amber Thiessen shooting pool at Yankee Doodles in Santa Monica. She was wearing this t-shirt with a big 8 ball on it (like she was a gangsta or something) I liked her Capris and her shoes were cute, and I actually asked her where she had her nails done (its all I really wanted know and the only reason I went up and talked to her) lol..but if I were to come on here and post that in the main forum - it would get moved over here in a heartbeat - as it should. Whats the big deal anyway? Is it a sin to be seen over here in the NPR forum? So they moved your post. Get over it. It was about football!lol

anyway ... here's Tiffany playing pool.

Tony Hargain is a great guy. Helped sponsor my All Around Tour last year and always willing to help in any way he can.

I wear one of his jackets all over town. (Well, as much as you can wear a jacket in Arizona)

They were selling their brand of clothing like crazy at the Derby. Seemed like everyone had their clothing on. Also seemed like half the players wore it too. Hustlin brand has come up with a hot seller. I think they have a lot of potential to branch out beyond pool for sure. Wish I had come up with the idea! Ha Ha

I know Tony was going to the World Series of Poker last year to sell his stuff. I heard it did pretty well there too.

I totally disagree. She was just pointing out how "billiards" is finally getting some national recognition. All she stated was that a famous football player was seen on national television wearing a clothing line that got its origin from pool. And then she mentioned Tony Stewart being at the DCC.

And then I asked if she thought Tony Stewart is a "Redskins fan". It is all relative...................

Tony Stewart-Nascar Champ and sponsor of Shannon Daulton

Joe Gibbs is Tony Stewart's car owner and coach of the Redskins.

So every sentence in this thread does not mention pool. Do all threads? So I interjected a question about football, so what? Are you trying to tell me that every thread on this forum stays on topic in every reply? Exactly! I honestly believe this thread is POOL-RELATED as most of the topics that were referred were POOL-RELATED.

I try to stay out of all the political BS that goes on around here, but I strongly feel that moving this thread was unjustified. IMHO

no offense jam and sizl but i think it's streching pool related a little to call this a pool related thread.
i also dont really understand why so upset sbout moving to the npr forum? is their something wrong with npr? maybe if mike moved it up to right under the main forum people wouldnt look at it in a bad way
but i sure didnt think it would cause controversy to move this thread to the npr forum and can't say i understand why anybody would be upset about it.

Absolutely no offense taken, Iconcue! :)

I had been seeing the Hustlin' USA Clothing brand banner on AzBilliards Main Page and Discussion Forum for sometime now. Since they advertise on AzBilliards, I thought it would be noteworthy to make mention that a pro football player was wearing the logo on prime time television.

The example given -- "Tiffany-Amber Thiessen shooting pool at Yankee Doodles in Santa Monica...wearing this t-shirt with a big 8 ball on it" -- seemed quite different to me than the Bronco football pro Rod Smith wearing the Hustlin' USA Clothing baseball cap, a pool industry member who happens to advertise on AzBilliards website.

I for one have no problem with the NPR section of this forum. What I guess I have a problem with is understanding the GUIDLINES for information that is to be used in the Main Forum. Is their any in place? I just do not understand how this IS NOT POOL RELATED:(

As a moderator I would think that one of the duties would be to uphold the integrity of the game. On the first page of the main forum their is a topic "Best Pool Room Fights", now one would think they would be more apt to move that topic instead of this one. What kind of message is that sending? We want every1 to know that their are fights in every pool room in the world and we are PROUD of it? But we do not want every1 to know that a famous sports personality is wearing a product based on pool? I just dont understand the angle.

Once again I usually do not participate in the political sides of discussions, but their are several threads on the first two pages of the main forum that is discussing tournaments around the country. Is their not a area for that type of discussion on this forum? Exactly! I just think their are other threads that need to be addressed, not this one.

I mean no dis-respect to you ICONCUE! I totally respect you, but please put some guidelines in place.

ROLL TIDE:D :p

Nope, it shouldn't have been moved JAM, but that's the way it is around here now. You have to know absolutely nothing about pool to post in the Main Forum. And IMO, pool players don't wear hats so how could your original topic be about pool?:D Sorry 'bout the Skins, they made a run for it though, maybe next year. Peace, John.

is there a policy about whether a post is pool related or not? not that i know of.
a lot of people complain in the main forum when non-pool related posts pop up. so we were just trying to move those to npr. i dont think it should be looked on as a bad thing.
but if someone wants to suggest a policy or another forum or better ways of arranging forums i'm sure mike will listen.
i guess until there is a clearly defined policy that people understand i will not move threads out of the main forum. :)

I have to totally agree with you sizl, the mod also moved a thread about the new movie "Shooting Gallery", that's not pool related? I then went and read the "fight" thread and found nothing to do with pool. I don`t see any consistancy here and I don`t like the precedents being set.

A football player wearing a baseball cap has nothing to do with pool no matter what brand the cap is. The Washington Redskins season has nothing to do with pool, no matter what effect some might feel the IPT has on the player wearing the cap. I've had threads moved and deleted on Azbilliards and its no big deal. The decision was in the hands of the moderators. Regardless of where a post is placed on this site, if it is useful and informative, and substantial, people will see it and respond to it accordingly. The moderators have a large volume of posts and threads to monitor every day. Give them a break and give them some support and a little bit of respect for the thankless job that they do - and start talking about POOL... not baseball caps, Kevin Trudeau's money and The Washington Redskins.

did you read my post above yours?
you don't suggest any new policy?
i'd be willing to wager if the "fight " thread got moved here we would get just as many complaints.
if we need to come up with more clearly defined policies then we need to move foward doing that and quit worrying about this one single thread.
