I for one have no problem with the NPR section of this forum. What I guess I have a problem with is understanding the GUIDLINES for information that is to be used in the Main Forum. Is their any in place? I just do not understand how this IS NOT POOL RELATED:(

As a moderator I would think that one of the duties would be to uphold the integrity of the game. On the first page of the main forum their is a topic "Best Pool Room Fights", now one would think they would be more apt to move that topic instead of this one. What kind of message is that sending? We want every1 to know that their are fights in every pool room in the world and we are PROUD of it? But we do not want every1 to know that a famous sports personality is wearing a product based on pool? I just dont understand the angle.

Once again I usually do not participate in the political sides of discussions, but their are several threads on the first two pages of the main forum that is discussing tournaments around the country. Is their not a area for that type of discussion on this forum? Exactly! I just think their are other threads that need to be addressed, not this one.

I mean no dis-respect to you ICONCUE! I totally respect you, but please put some guidelines in place.

ROLL TIDE:D :p

you can compartmenatlize TOO much,,,and then no one gets to read or get read. the main forum is good in that it is the melting pot for all to gather. pool related and "non pool" related,,,,,that sounds self explanatory to me.

this thread was ok starting out. jam's intent had broad significance in regards to pool, but the thread was moved too quickly because a couple of protestors got prissy. maybe after a page of posts, it's relevence would have been easier to see and THEN the thread could have been moved.

but the result of the quick move??,,,,,,,thread never found itself, pointless debate raged, and here we are.

it's nobody's business but the three moderators about what gets moved.

My fingers hesitate to respond to this thread, originally about Hustlin USA Clothing being worn by a pro football player.

It is amazing to me how words can be taken out of context and then along come the embellishments and/or interpretations of what posters really meant. The words are dissected, evaluated, and everybody has a blessed opinion.

Of course, I did not lose any sleep over the PM I received from Straybullet, though one poster stated how ridiculous it is that I had trouble sleeping because of this thread. What I did state, though, is that I decided to sleep on it overnight because the PM to me was troublesome.

However, the next day after receiving Straybullet's PM, I received numerous -- yes, NUMEROUS -- PMs from AzBilliards' members who received a PM from Straybullet about this thread and the favoritism that is accorded me. Straybullet states I shouldn't be posting about baseball caps, but should be defending posters like Straybullet and her friends with my so-called "influence." The only mistake I made was initiating this thread, and, boy, how I wish I hadn't now. Look at what has happened.

There is one school of thought to just ignore posters which cause consternation. This is the correct way to respond to an annoying poster, i.e., just don't respond. However, when the poster continues by PM-ing others on the board about a non-sensical issue like this thread and then transforms it into favoritism accorded me, I not only found it offensive, but it was an outright lie. I rarely use the word "lie" in my everyday parlance, but in this instance, yes, it was a bold-faced lie, and as such, I posted the PM publicly.

Since this time, Blackjack has given me bad rep points. Blackjack posts onto this thread about an IPT player wearing a baseball cap and "Kevin Trudeau's money." Not one poster mentioned the IPT or Kevin Trudeau until Blackjack posted about it. In my opinion, he was blinded by his disdain for the IPT and thereby threw the topic of the IPT in this thread because of me, a person who happens to be pro IPT. I have recently learned that Blackjack lives with Straybullet.

When posting on a pool-related forum becomes troublesome, then it is time to quit posting. I want my posting experience on AzBilliards to be enjoyable, but when it begins to manifest itself onto other forums, newsgroups, chat rooms, and bulletin boards, attacking not only myself, but those who are close to me, it may be time to take a hiatus.

I initiate a thread about Hustlin Clothing USA. I receive numerous PMs from concerned posters who received PMs from Straybullet referencing me. New threads erupt, PMs are exchanged back and forth, and the topic is thrashed over once more. Talk about a nightmare that gets worse, this is it.

jam, i wish you would reconsider taking a hiatus. i think the board could use your calming influence.
also since i am the one responsible for moving the thread in the first place the other posters might hang me from the nearest tree :(
if i can help settle things for you in any way please let me know.

Let me throw my 2 cents in on this...and please read this JAM.

Given the amount of pool knowledge that some people have posted to this board in the 1+ year I have been here, it is safe to say that we are not going to be missing out on much from some that have been banned. I am not trying to offend anybody...but fact is fact. If you don't like it, do something about it. I challenge everyone to leave the drama behind and post on POOL related topics ONLY.

JAM, your posts are both informative and very well appreciated by MANY of us. I KNOW this as FACT. Not once I have I seen a post that could even possibly come across as offensive or off topic.

And as a side note, unless he has moved since I was on the phone with him last week, Blackjack is not living with Straybullet. He hates Kissimmee and its hustle and bustle. Blackjack is a great gentleman and did me a tremendous favor in talking with me about a recent non-pool related issue. Straybullet is likewise a great person, I just think her forwardness and bluntness sometimes gets her in trouble, which I can sympathize with. They both offered me counseling and a good ear when I needed it.

The point I am trying to make is this...some people may not could make the tie in between a Pro football player wearing a pool related hat and how that DOES help pool being exposed to the public. Some people are just jealous of the IPT and the money that may now be involved in it. The point is, handle it like an adult and agree to disagree and let sleeping dogs lie. No since in ANYONE dragging anyone else through the mud to make a point. I sometimes write and rewrite posts several times before I get them correct. This post being one of them.

I understand if you do back away from the boards, and I feel it helps us all when we do take a little break when tempers flair. I just feel that JAM has too much to contribute and would hate to see her step away from this board.

Thank you,
Shorty

Being in the billiards industry(a very green one I might add), I can tell you I totally understand why JAM would be so pleased to see a billiards related brand being featured on National TV by a celebrity. Considering what some pool players have been through playing this "minority" sport for so many years, it must be very encouraging to see pool finally coming into the "mainstream."
I do personally read the threads in the main forum much more often than those in the NPR forum so I am glad that this thread is posted here. Had it been posted in the NPR forum, I probably would have missed it.
And I am very happy to see a football player wearing a pool related brand. To me, it is pool related, and it is good news which I would like to know about. It is also informative to be able to learn a bit more about the company and the owner.
By the way, I also like the clothing line by Allen Hopkins Junior, I think they are quite stylish.

it is important that the moderators realize the importance of main forum for the very reason you state. this is where most people read and get read.

i think npr recent topics should be linked on top as are the ipt and dcc. maybe THAT way, people will start to make more use of npr.

JAM,
For what it's worth, here is my honest opinion on this issue. I do not read the NPR forum, period. I would have missed this entirely. Also, a lot of the people on this board like to argue and/or start trouble. I have NEVER seen you make one post that was anything other than politely stating your opinion, and you do have that right, no matter what others might think. Take a break if you must, but know that you are one of the very few reasons that I remain here on AZB.

Anyway my take on the hustlin' brand.

Although it is intended for Pool Players and is a Pool players clothing company, other people may not look at it that way. They see the word Hustle, or Hustlin, or Hustler or Hustla, as a new type of "look" so to speak. I cant tell you how many times I heard the word Hustler (or any variation of it) in a rap song and used not in a pool reference. I think this may attract people to the clothing who are not pool players and do not intend to be pool players and dont even know the clothing line was originally created by pool players.

Therefore the brand name getting out there worn by celebrities may not bring more attention to pool, it may take that brand and make it worn by more people who arnt pool players, rather then those who the clothing line was designed for. Kinda sucks really.

Now if this guy played pool and that was the reason he was wearing it, that is another story, but it may still go towards to scenario in the preceding paragraph.

Edited to add:

JAM, please consider posting here still, this forum really needs people like you who provide good input and share experiences with others.
