Brothers Billiards, new kind of pool room.

And that would be Black Diamond Billiards, only other 9ft is at Legacy, and 16 7fts😅
yep, one 9'er at Legacy. I wont be driving there either.
Why is it all across the country that I've traveled to that has more 7 or 8 foot tables than 9', the 9' side is almost always busier. Actually from what I've experienced its rare to see the 7/8' side busier. I understand the in the evening when the leagues come in they want the small tables and I'm good with that. Its that the owners must not care about about the players that want to play on the big tables. They made their choice and I've made mine. I've never been to Montana or about nine other states so they may be different, but I doubt it.

There aren’t any other 9-ft tables in the city, aside from in people’s homes. People play on Valley leagues, which are on crummy 7-ft tables and then maybe go to Vegas where they play on the same 7-ft tables but a little cleaner. And they play on BCA leagues which can be on any type of table, but then they go to Vegas and play on nice 7-ft Diamonds, like the ones in this room. There’s only one yearly tournament on 9-ft tables in the region, a few hours drive from this room. All the others are on those crummy 7-ft Valley tables or the nice 7-ft Diamond tables. Unfortunately 9-footers are almost non-existent in the region, and by region I mean an area the size of Germany or France.

Someone made a comment about not understanding why they would put in 8-footers. Given the non-existence of 9-footers in the region, 8-footers make sense to me. I’ve been playing on 7-footers almost exclusively for the past decade (except at home), and every time I go to play on a 7-footer they look tiny, like toy tables. The 8-foot Diamonds in this room are really nice tables and the difference isn’t as stark between the 8 and 9.

I was in this room a couple times in the past month, and I got to talk to realkingcobra for a while. Crazy guy. :D The owners are extremely happy with what you’ve done. Man you set up a fast table.

get it. it's a geographic/demographic issue then, rather than hall owner's choice.

i guess it's different perspectives and that also i under other circumstances would play on small tables. after all, balls need to collide with other balls..

I stopped at a Pinky's pool room in Omaha Nebraska once just to check it out. Get this, 98 valley 7fts, 10 GC 1's....all 98 valleys had someone playing on them, and a pitcher of beer on every stand up table....but not ONE single person was playing on the 9fts....and this was a Friday night!! I must have come in on the wrong day!!

Here's a little secret that you may not be aware of, most people that play on 9fts don't spend money unless its in table time, THEN only if they have someone to gamble with! To many times I've walked into "9ft pool halls" with quite a few players sitting around reading a news paper, watching sports on TV, or bullshitting with other player....but NOT playing pool! But, if I look like a player, then they ALL think its feeding time, and dinner just walked through the door!! Sound familiar????

You make some valid points, even if not completely accurate. I could list the last 10 rooms in six states that I’ve been to in the past four months, but that won’t allow you to consider other opinions as valid. Take care brother🛩

I've worked in bars and pool rooms in every state except Hawaii. No, all pool rooms are not the same, but a lot sure do share the same similarities.

Players don't go around looking for action in bars, thats a "poolhall" mentality.

And I've spent my time making money in both!

Sounds like our room. We have eight 9-foot tables, one 10-foot table and one 7-foot table.
I’ll check with my partner and see if I can escape Charlotte and spend some money in your room, a two hour drive might put a dampener on that

That's the stupidest $hit I've ever seen you post. It even qualifies for the stupidest post ever. Back in the day, bars were the only place I went looking for action along with most of the posters on AZ.

Sure, if you wanted to nickel and dime bar players, but if you want to make some real money, that was done in a poolroom, not in the bars!!!

Just exactly what do you consider gambling in a bar? 14.1, one pocket, races to 7, 11, 15....on coin operated pool tables...BS!
