Would love to see some better pics of the whole table!

Sorry....I don't have anymore....I was so tired after the 12 hours it took to a
Install. The pics of the rails were from my shop.
Took just a couple of pics and drove home....plus I always forget to take pics when I'm done with the jobs.

Trust me the table was awesome....and the guy loves it....he's called twice to let me know that the tables much more than he could have hoped for.

Very nice!

Damn Mark, that looks awesome. I know for a fact it plays that way :)

Happy New year and have a great 2014!

Are those the snooker castings or did you change them out ? I have a 10 ft gold crown 1 snooker table that no one is going to buy so I was thinking about having it converted to replace my restored gold crown 2.

Ok, you can't post this without telling us how you restored the laminate. I have a Gold Crown II 9' that needs this badly!! Beautiful job!!

That's not laminate...that's real wood...black Brazilian rose wood...can't be found today that I know of.
That's how I finish the wood....this is what the rail looks like before..image.jpg

They're the snooker castings....I like converting the snooker tables to pool tables cause you don't end up with big shims in the pockets.
Those pockets are 3 7/8ths and you don't see shims sticking out in the back of the pockets.

Trust me.....I wish a knew a way to clean up laminate as well.
When I redo rails.....GC -1-2-3...the laminate looks bad and I clean it...but it still looks pretty much the same as when I got into the shop to start with.
Let me know if you find something that works.

That is freakin outstanding.

I will add that you really should do better on the before and after pictures!

You deserve all the best.

Best of rolls,

Ken

I often wondered if you could take a buffing wheel to them.

I have some guy do my boat each year and it looks new. The water and sun really does a number on it, and after he does this buffing it looks new.

Maybe if you can get "scrap" to try it might be just the ticket.

A lot of people that don't know what goes into this level of work don't understand what really goes into it. I've spoken with a lot of people that don't understand why it's so hard to convert a snooker table to a pool table, and why it costs so much....because they've talked to other table mechanics that have said it's not hard to convert one over....well, I guarantee you if you look at the work that someone else did to convert a snooker table to pocket pool table....then you look at the work Mark did...compare the tables and see if they even look the same, let alone play the same. Mark and I've been talking about this line of work for years now....and HE knows I don't want a thing to do with converting over a table....it's way to much work to do it right, and takes way to long to do....living on the road the way I do. So, anyone that contacts me for this kind of work...I just forward them right on to Mark...I think he has an obsession for Pandora's box if you ask me...LOL
