Its got some diamonds in the butt and points, and looks like a Titleist. What's it worth? Is it worth a new wrap and refinish? I'm thinking about trying to buy it.

I don't know what it's worth, but it's not a Titlist, it does not even look like one. Veneers are wrong. I don't even think it's a Brunswick.

The seller destroyed the wrap, so that needs replaced.
I pulled the Nylon string off this cue to see if there was a signiture. And I put it back on.

The sellers "history" is all screwed up about Brunswick cues I think. Either they were told wrong or they made it up.

Cool cue. I don't know what it's worth, but not a lot.

Unless somebody IDs the thing it's maybe worth less than the starting price.

I've never seen a brunswick with squared off point bottoms.....Not a titlist for sure, and highly doubt even a brunswick. Still, old school, and different, so i'm sure it's worth it to some folks.

New wrap, finish, joint collar, and a couple great shafts......

Neat old cue, likely something that will never be reconnected with its maker though.

hmmm

palmercollector .com has brunswick cues
scrole down to the BBC Examples.. and look at The Classic 26 1/2 ..the one on the left to be exact

The Nylon was put back on, not destroyed. There are still Cue Doctors out there... we are not all cue butchers.

any further info

Yes palmercollector has a pic of a 26 1/2. The Ebay sale does not.

A 26 1/2 has the same veneer colors as a Titlist and those veneer colors never changed.

As far as the wrap, how about some pics after the wrap was replaced? The only one that looks like it might be an "after" pic looks like the wrap is lumpy and uneven, as if it were just wound onto the handle over the glue.

Since you are a "cue doctor" how about a pic of the bottom of the veneers after the handle was properly sanded? That would surely give us a better view.

I say again, the cue is not a 26 1/2.

The veneers & point crotches aren't right for a 26 1/2, or a Titlist.

It's hard to say what it is, but my guess is it's origins are from the early to mid 70s. The butt-cap, the Nylon wrap, and the style of brass joint sort of leave me with that impression.

The seller suggests the butt-cap is Ivory, but the overall color plus wear on the on the bottom says ABS plastic to me. The seller should do the hot pin test if there's any doubt ...if it's Ivory it obviously won't melt

No comments on the inlay work other than it's probably not original to the cue.

I agree. It looks to be ABS. In fact, if Ebay sees the word ivory in his sale, they are going to pull it anyway.

The veneers actually scream Asian import to me.

hmmm

Dan thx for the reminder about the pin test...lol
It did not push through. When I got the pin hot it only smokes a little. I cleaned of the burn spot aftrwards and a small piece chiped out. So it is Ivory,

ChopDoc please continue w/ your negative remarkes and scepticism, I'm sure you have a small group of people you apeal to.. and it only get others to "study" so they don't come off as you.

Chopdocs correct. Not a Brunswick. I have the same cue. I have the wrap off and they are identical in veneer work and flat joinery. After sanding the glue off in the wrap area it reveals a joint where the handle connects to the forearm.. Same woods, but didnt see it till the glue was sanded off. Anyway, not a Brunswick. 70's era import. A magnet will tell you if theres a tenon pin in the forearm of yours without pullin the wrap and sanding. Hope this helps...

Negative remarks?

The cue is not a 26 1/2. If that's a negative remark then so be it. It is nonetheless a fact.

I said I thought it was a cool cue. Is that a negative?

It does not look like an ivory butt cap. I was not the one to break that ground. But I do agree with that. The point to the pin test is only partly the possibility of melting if it's plastic, there is also the matter of the smell it produces, which is extremely important. You did not comment on that, which is strange.

At this point, claiming it is a 26 1/2 is fraudulent.

It is highly unlikely it was made by Brunswick because there has yet to be identified a Brunswick made cue with the features of that cue. In fact it lack the very features sought after in a Brunswick made cue.

There were Brunswick branded cues with some of the features of that cue, but they were Asian imports.

It in fact is an interesting cue even though it isn't at all what you think it is, and of that I am 100% sure. I was formerly interested in helping you find out what this cue is. I am no longer interested in doing that. I was also possibly interested in the cue as I like odd "orphan" cues. I am no longer interested.
